LEARN
Lectio: Eucharist with Dr. Brant Pitre

"The Lamb of God," "The Bread of Life," "The Body and the Blood of Christ"—these are phrases we know from the Mass. But do we understand what they mean in the greater context of Church teaching? In this program, discover firsthand how Christ's Body and Blood are an integral part of God's plan for our salvation.

LISTEN
The Four Last Things: Death, Judgement, Heaven, Hell by Fr. Mike Schmitz

Fr. Mike Schmitz is one of the leading Catholic speakers in the Church today. In this exceptional presentation, Fr. Mike tackles four topics that many of us understandably struggle with: death, judgement, Heaven, and Hell. As you listen to this talk, you'll be reminded that God wants to welcome you into Heaven, your true home!

Catechist Training for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) model builds on understanding the learning process of the 3-6 year old child and providing her/him with materials in an environment that will initiate a relationship with God.  CGS is based on the work begun by Maria Montessori and further developed by Sophia Cavelletti and Gianna Gobbi in Rome.

A Catechist Training for the learning environment of 3-6 year olds is offered at Holy Cross in Deerfield on M-F June 13-17 and T-Th August 3, 4, 5 at 9:00-4:00pm.

The cost for Level I is $350.  To learn more about CGS visit: www.cgsusa.org

The Bunco for Babies event was held on April 27 in the O’Gara Parish Center. The event was a huge success as we were able to donate an SUV full of baby items as well as $1,000.00 in cash, checks and gift cards.

All attendees enjoyed the evening which included laughter, socializing, playing Bunco and sampling delicious desserts.  Thank you to all attenees as well as to the many parishioners who donated baby items, cash and gift cards.
