A Word from Pastor Dave
 

14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. - Ephesians 3:14-19

When we think about power, we often think of the splitting of the red sea or of the blind being healed. Very few of us think of the power to believe we are the beloved of God because of Christ alone. And yet that is what Paul prays here. He has just proclaimed the glories of the gospel, but now he gets on his knees and pleads with His Father for the Ephesian church to truly believe, in their inner being, the truths he has just expressed. 

Too many of us settle for a cognitive assent to gospel truths, while our hearts still believe lies that are antithetical to the gospel. Lies like, “I am loved because I work hard, or because I am a good person, or because I serve in the church.”  Insecurity, anxiety, doing things to be seen or affirmed, and judgmentalism all begin to creep up in our hearts because the gospel we believe in our heads has not taken hold deeply in our souls. 

Satan, our sinful flesh, and this world are all trying to get us to disbelieve the gospel. And if we think that we don’t need supernatural help to rest in and trust in the gospel, we are fooling ourselves. Only through God’s power, the same power that raised Christ Jesus from the dead, do performance enslaved people have a chance to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.

7 POTS OF SOUP (hot & ready to serve)
INDIVIDUAL BAGS OF CHIPS
FRUIT (bananas, bags of apples or oranges) 
~COOKIES have been donated!!

4-5 SERVERS


Please drop off day of BETWEEN 10:30-10:45. If you're bringing food early, drop it off at the church office next week Mon-Thurs from 9-3. Please let us know what you are bringing so we can plan accordingly:
