Dale Laitinen paints the natural landscapes because of its promise of an infinite portal to the imagination. His paintings marry the underlying design of nature with objective reality to go beyond the surface appearance of things.
The hallmark of a Laitinen painting is his highly designed broad brush approach to depicting the landscape. His work ranges from representational to highly abstract interpretations of his chosen subjects.
Laitinen is a graduate of Modesto Junior College and San Jose State in California with a degree in Fine Art. He is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society and Watercolor West, travels widely teaching workshops and is a national art juror.
Since 1987, he has been teaching workshops nationally and in Europe . He has been chosen as one of the jurors of selection for the 2022 National Watercolor Society Annual Open Exhibition.
He lives and paints in a Pine and Cedar forest in Pioneer, CA, in a house, not in the trees.
Join Placerville Arts Association Your membership dues are vital to PAA and are due January of each year. The dues cover our expenses which include, paying program presenters, offering member shows, paying show judges and insurance. Member dues are $35 for an individual and $60 for a couple.
