Making Space for Student Voices:
ElevatED4SC Episode 8 Out Today

The eighth episode of the ElevatED4SC vodcast series is out today, focusing on collective leadership in classrooms and transforming the teaching profession from a policy perspective.

In this episode, we are joined by regular contributor Merrit Jones, an ALL4SC fellow and advisor to national organization StudentVoice. She shares the importance of making space for student input in and out of the classroom. Later, Barnett Berry joins Merrit to discuss how building student-teacher partnership relies on teacher leadership.

“The fact is that students are the primary stakeholders in education,” Jones says. “They have to be partners in shaping what their experience looks like.”

ElevatED4SC features success stories illustrating how education transformation is already happening in some South Carolina schools. Viewers and listeners can also learn about what other states are doing to meet similar challenges and find out what a whole child, cradle-to-career approach to education would look like.

The video and audio versions of Episode 8 are available at ElevatED4SC.com or on YouTube, iTunes and Spotify.

ALL4SC is the producing partner for the vodcast series.
