2022 National Economic Development Awards (EDA) for Excellence
Nominations are now open for these national awards - preparing a submission is simple and winning a prestigious EDA award is a great way to shine a spotlight on your innovative economic development projects and raise the profile of your work.
Submissions can be made for projects delivered from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. Winners will be announced at a gala event during the National Economic Development Conference (NEDC22) in Sydney on 13 October 2022.

ARC Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) Scheme
Administered by the Australian Research Council (ARC), the program aims to provide funding for research infrastructure, equipment and facilities to eligible organisations.
The objectives of the scheme are to:
- Support excellent basic and applied research and research training through the acquisition of research equipment and infrastructure and access to national and international research facilities.
- Encourage eligible organisations to develop collaborative arrangements with other eligible organisations and/or partner organisations for the acquisition and use of research equipment and infrastructure or access to national and international facilities.

Tourism Australia – Advance Program
This program seeks to increase international visitation to Australia for the purposes of attending a business event, and to increase consideration of Australia as a business events destination.The program aims to delivers specific, measurable, and achievable marketing and distribution activity within a specified financial year that supports marketing or distribution activities that help to increase:
- International visitation to confirmed business events being held in Australia.
- Consideration of Australia by international business events decision makers and/or that help in the conversion of new business events but not related to a specific event.
The Australian Government’s trade and investment facilitation strategies are focused around the following priority areas:
- Food and agribusiness
- Advanced manufacturing
- Infrastructure
- Resources and energy
- International health
- Services & disruptive technologies

Business Events Bid Fund Program (BFP)
This program is designed to increase the conversion of bids for new international business events for Australia through the offer of financial support at the critical bidding stage. The BFP is designed to deliver conversion of new business in situations where Australia is bidding against international competitors for the right to host the business event.
