St Peter's Cathedral e-News - Friday 13 May 2022
Thought for the week from the Precentor
The 13th Chapter of the Gospel according to Saint John invites us to hear Jesus’ “new commandment”. Jesus said to his disciples as they were gathered at the Last Supper before his trial and crucifixion, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.”
The Rev'd Canon Jenny Wilson

APPEAL FOR SHORT-TERM ACCOMMODATION
If you have a ground floor granny flat or similarly private accommodation that you would be willing to let short term at favourable rates, to assist a low-income family of three from Whyalla who need to move to Adelaide for the winter to obtain necessary health care, please contact The Rev'd Dianne Schaefer on 0413 633 905 or at dianneschaefer@yahoo.com.au
Susan's son, in need of treatment, is in a wheelchair and her mother (for whom she has responsibility as carer) has mobility issues, so easy access is essential.

2022 The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, May 29th - June 5th, offers churches an opportunity to come together in prayer, specifically reflecting on the unity we find in God’s loving call. Each of us has a place, and our unity expresses the beauty of the whole body of Christ.
There are a number of ways of participating:
  • Personal or Small Group prayers using the Reflections for the Eight Day booklet
  • Attend Churches Together SA Worship service on Wednesday, June 1st at St Peter's Cathedral, North Adelaide
RSVP here if you are thinking of attending. RSVPs are not required but are recommended.
Churches Together SA welcomes everyone to this WCC ecumenical worship. As we draw towards God in prayer across the world, we draw towards each other in unity.
