Clingman Forum takes the week off. There'll be no Clingman Forum gathering after church this Sunday, May 15, but be sure to come back the following Sunday, May 22, from 11a - noon after the 10a Eucharist. Benjamin Hart will join us then for a fascinating look at the Eucharistic Prayer, the portion of the Book of Common Prayer liturgy that incorporates the blessing of the bread and wine. Did you know that the BCP incorporates four versions of the Eucharistic Prayer, and we change them seasonally through the year so that we experience all four between Advent and the Pentecost season? Why are there four? Where did they come from, and how do they differ? What do they teach us, and how might we gain spiritually from following closely along? Come to learn, and bring your questions for Benjamin.
Clingman Forum is a hybrid in-person and online gathering: You are welcome to participate in person, or you may check in from home (or wherever you are) via Zoom on your computer or device
Virtual Adult Ed: More Nadia Bolz-Weber. We enjoyed discussing Nadia Bolz-Weber's deep dive into the Lord's Prayer so much over the past three weeks that we've decided to go back to Nadia for more! This Monday, May 16, from 6-7p we'll watch her 15-minute tent talk in 2017 at the Nantucket Project in Massachusetts, where it was unsurprisingly chosen as the audience award winner.
She begins her talk with a hilarious anecdote about why she doesn't like to tell her airplane seatmates that she's a pastor, and concludes it, after many breaks for laughter and applause, with this reassurance: " If my work as a pastor and a theologian does nothing else in the world, I wish it to do this one thing: that those in my care may know this; if you have been told that God is some kind of punishing capricious angry bastard with a killer surveillance system who is basically always disappointed with you for being a human being, then you have been lied to, the church has failed you, and I am sorry."
There's plenty for us to talk about in this video. Come, take part. Susan Brokenshire-Prater, Amy Tidwell, and Robin Garr moderate this program. If you participate regularly, you are already registered. If you aren't on the list, please contact Robin by email at robingarr@gmail.com to receive your Zoom invitation by email or text.

We'll meet by Zoom at noon on Tuesday. Those wanting to participate can contact Judy Fischer at judith.fischer@louisville.edu. All are welcome.
Going Deeper. On Thursday, May 26, the class will resume their second and fourth Thursdays schedule at 9:45a on Zoom. Participants are asked to bring favorite, meaningful poems to share and discuss. All are welcome. Contact Denee Bannister (dancedenee@bellsouth.net) to be included on the Zoom list.
Monday Bible Study. The group will meet on May 16 via Zoom only. We start at 10a by visiting with one another and asking questions about what is going on in our parishes and in the larger church. At 10:15a, we begin the study with a prayer. Individuals take turns reading through the text and then ask questions together. This week, we will be discussing Ecclesiastes. Email Kelly Kirby at kkirby@stmatthewsepiscopallouisville.org if you need a link.
