It is Helper Appreciation Month and we’d like to express our appreciation of the hard work and sacrifice that domestic workers make for Hong Kong families! We will be posting on our Facebook regularly throughout the month to show our appreciation for our domestic worker community - check it out and spread the love! 

What are some ways you can also show your appreciation to your domestic worker? Here are 5 simple ideas:

1. Saying a simple “Thank you” can go a long way, even the smallest things.

2. Write a thank you card or ask your children to make a thank you card for her.

3. Give a special gift, for example, a voucher, phone top-up cards, movie tickets.

4. Take her out for her favourite meal or treat her to some of her favourite takeaways or snacks.

5. Consider giving her an extra day off this month.

Rewards for your helper

Apart from acknowledging your helper for her hard work, rewards are also a great way to show your appreciation. Here are some ideas: 

• You could contribute items for her to send home. These can be simple items like chocolates, lotions, soaps. Make sure to ask what kind of things would be enjoyed by her family back home. 

• You can gift her a course! Check out the list of courses available for workers here. 

• You can consider booking a space at your clubhouse or other venues where your domestic helper can spend time with their friends on their day off.
