Dear First Free Church Family,

God gave the ancient patriarch of Israel, Joseph, some fantastic dreams. They seemed to promise a beautiful life, even unrivaled power and glory, yet Joseph's life went literally into the pits only a short time later. His dreams soon gave way to living nightmares.

Sometimes, our dreams do the same thing. We have a vision for how our life could be, maybe even should be, but unexpected and possibly even undeserved trouble comes out of nowhere. Our hopes and expectations collapse under a growing weight of disillusionment.

How should we respond to unrealized and interrupted dreams? When life doesn't go as we thought it would or should, what is our hope? Join us this Sunday for real-world answers anchored in God's Word.

Don't forget to join us for our Bible Fellowship Hour at 9:30 am (Adult Bible Fellowships, Breakfast Bible Bunch, and Children's Sunday School) and worship at 10:45 am. If you're new or newer to First Free, a brand new session of Discover continues in my office at 9:30 am as well. Join us!

Finally, we wish a happy Mother's Day this weekend to all of our moms in life and in faith!

Thank you for being a part of First Free. We're so glad and grateful you're here.

Kevin Labby, Lead Pastor
First Free Church

Today is the National Day of Prayer! Whether at home, work, school, or someplace else, join us in prayer today. Scripture commands that "supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (I Timothy 2:1-4).

Are you new or newer to First Free Church? If so, thank you! We're thrilled you're here. We also want to make sure you're warmly welcomed and make solid connections.

With that in mind, make plans to join Lead Pastor Kevin Labby and some friends for Discover - our Sunday morning gathering devoted specifically to you!

Over a light breakfast, we'll get to know each other, share some basics about our church, answer your questions, and help you and your family take your next step of connection at First Free. It's low-key, relaxed, no obligation - and fun. Don't miss it!

When: May 1, 8, and 22
Where: Pastor Kevin's Office

As we prepare for our return to our newly renovated auditorium, we are expanding and readying our Welcome Team for the next season of greeting at First Free Church! We will host a brief planning luncheon for current and future members of our Welcome Team on Sunday, June 12, immediately after worship in the Adult Learning Center (ALC). We will also distribute summer Welcome Team shirts so don't miss it!

With praise and thanks to God through your generosity and the generosity of our friends at another local church, we recently expanded and upgraded cameras for our live stream on Facebook Live and YouTube. We are looking to add several more volunteer camera operators of (almost) all ages to this team! It's a fun and easy way to serve. Contact the church office for more information!

Summer Women's ABF: Nehemiah
Join the Women of First Free for a summer studying Nehemiah. Women’s ABF provides a time to build multigenerational friendships and grow in our knowledge and love of Scripture. Each week we will have small group table discussions, large group teaching and small group prayer.  These times help us to grow in knowing God and knowing one another.

Nehemiah provides great pictures for us of how we should pray, repent, worship and be built up as the people of God in the midst of great adversity. A great picture of the church comes through in Nehemiah, as Nehemiah surveys the broken blocks, his building supplies to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem, he is faithful in believing God will use these broken stones to rebuild the wall so worship can be restored. What a picture for us! Jesus comes to build his church and God tells us that Jesus is the cornerstone. Much like the broken blocks that rebuilt the wall around Jerusalem, Jesus will use broken people to build his church! Come and be encouraged with us as we see God’s plan unfold.

Summer Men's ABF: Moses
As men, we can learn a lot from Biblical characters – the choices they made, the way they responded to God, how God used them in his purpose and plan.  One of those men is Moses, leader of the people of Israel out of slavery in Egypt, miracle worker, the one who gave Israel the Law.  He was a man like you and me – flawed, sometimes foolish and stubborn, yet used by God in some remarkable ways.

We invite you as men of First Free Church to come to our Summer Men’s ABF at 9:30 am each Sunday morning in the Fireplace Room to walk through The Life of Moses led by a 6-man teaching team.  Each week will use teaching, discussion, and prayer to sharpen our understanding of what it means to be a man who follows God and seeks to honor him in life.
