Travel through time for free family fun with StoryTrails this summer

This summer, StoryTrails will bring a unique immersive storytelling experience to 15 towns across the UK, allowing audiences to travel through time and place. In areas including Slough and London, local communities can try the latest multimedia technologies and see the town’s past, present and future collide in a celebration of local culture. Royal Holloway students have been supporting the local community as part of their degree through the university’s ‘Voluntary Work in the Community’ module. Students are getting the opportunity to learn more about the voluntary sector with many local organisations benefitting from the course including museums, theatres and primary schools. Read more.

Wakehurst Kew and Royal Holloway are inviting the public to take part in a study to find out how biodiversity impacts wellbeing. The study launches on 22 May. Find out more.

On Thursday 16 June, Royal Holloway’s Department of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy would like to invite members of the local community to join them in discussing opinions on offensive and aggressive speech on social media or face-to-face.

Royal Holloway partner Santander is running a free digital skills course, ‘Your Digital Pathway’. This online course, which is open to UK residents, is designed to support individuals to return to or start education, return to or start work, pivot their career, or set up a business online. Community call-in session on 17 May
Royal Holloway holds a termly call-in session for local residents. During the session there are bookable appointments, and these appointments are held over the phone. The next session is on Tuesday 17 May with bookable telephone appointments available between 5pm and 6pm. More information can be found here.
