E-NEWSLETTER
MAY 2022

Dear Colleagues,

May is both a time of preparation — as finals near — and a time of great celebration. Best wishes for a safe and happy completion of the semester, as we enter the home stretch toward Commencement.

As the Research Office continues to transition, I want to recognize our associate vice president, Anshuman (AR) Razdan, for his significant contributions to our research development activities since he joined UD in 2016 and wish him well in his next endeavor, as vice president for research and innovation at the University of Oregon. Thanks for all you have done at UD, AR — and continued success in your new role.

Please join us for the last research town hall of the semester on Monday, May 16, 2-3 p.m. Our special guests will be the co-chairs of the University of Delaware Anti-Racism Initiative (UDARI) — Lynnette Overby, professor of theatre and director of the Community Engagement Initiative; Alison Parker, chair of the Department of History and Richards Professor of American History; and Earl Smith, professor of women and gender studies.

Thank you for your continuing commitment to UD’s research community — and congratulations to our graduating Blue Hens!

New Participant Support
Account Code Created

General Accounting has created a new account code for Participant Support Travel Reimbursement: 146105. The purpose of this new account code is to record participant travel reimbursements. This account code is not 1099 reportable and is exempt from F&A. The reimbursement should be for the exact amount of expenses, and receipts must be provided. If a flat fee will be provided to the participant regardless of travel costs, account 146115 (Participant Support Costs Students) or 146100 (Participant Support Costs Non-Employees) should be used as appropriate.

Additional guidance on participant support costs can be found in the Grant Management Guide. For any questions, please consult with your unit’s assigned contract and grants analyst in the Research Office.
