Friends —
Happy May! We're holding over Everything, Everywhere, All At Once at the Bijou this week and Nick Cage is unmissable in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent at the State.
At the State Theatre: The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
Friday and Saturday at 1pm, 4pm and 7pm
Sunday at 1pm and 4pm
After playing someone wearing his face in Face/Off, two people with the same face in Adaptation, and a creature with no face in Ghost Rider, Nick Cage takes on perhaps the greatest face yet—his own. In The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, one the best and funniest films we’ve seen in 2022, Nick Cage plays himself, as he’s hired to appear at the party of a wealthy playboy (played by Pedro Pascal). While they become fast friends, Nick soon learns his new companion is not all he seems and he must team up with the CIA to take him down. An inventive comedy adventure that celebrates Nicholas Cage's career and as Eric Ravenscraft from Wired says, "this movie is the best of cinema itself.”

At The Bijou: Everything Everywhere All At Once
Friday and Saturday at 2pm and 6pm
Sunday at 2pm
Returning to the Bijou this weekend, this surprisingly heart-touching and daringly mind-bending science fiction film brings together absurdism, nihilism, and parenthood in a way only a great movie like this could do. Michelle Yeoh (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Crazy Rich Asians) plays Evelyn Wang, a down on her luck laundromat worker who’s struggling to understand her teenage daughter, her husband, and how her life ended up just this bad. Everything changes when she discovers her parallel universe lives and the inter-dimensional threat that is coming for all of them. A film that defies convention, and really must be seen to be believed!
