The Lachlan Valley Branch of the National Parks Association are holding the following walks:

Peak Hill Old Mine Walk

eet Bushmans Dam Newell Highway cnr Thomas St Parkes 9am

This is a 3km Medium undulating walk on track. May be an option to also include Peak Hill Nature Trail.  Leader Peter Cannon 6866 1225
 
New walkers are always welcome! Walkers are reminded to bring along enough food and water for the entire day as well as suitable clothing, footwear, hat and sunscreen. A pair of good binoculars and a fold up chair for the post- walk cuppa is recommended.
All walks are subject to COVID restrictions, RFS fire warnings and any closure of the relevant NP or State Forest due to Hunting Permits, aerial pest control etc.
 
For safety reasons those walking stay together as a group. Please consider bringing a companion if for any reason you are unsure of your ability to complete the walk so that you don’t return unaccompanied
 
Please contact the listed walk leader the night before the walk if you intend to walk. A $2.00 donation for each walker is appreciated.

2022 BirdLife Australia Photography Awards are open!
The theme is.....all  things Robin! To be eligible for this category, your photos must contain one or more Australasian robin species.

The winner of each category will receive a $1,000 cash prize, with $5,000 cash going to the portfolio winner – courtesy of our principal sponsor Nikon Australia.
All the usual categories are also back, including:

🔵 Backyard Bird

The awards will run until August 1.

2022 NATIONAL LANDCARE CONFERENCE REGISTRATIONS OPEN – MEET US IN SYDNEY OR ONLINE!

It’s been four years since Landcarers could gather in person at a National Landcare Conference, one of Landcare’s biggest knowledge sharing events. The National Landcare Conference will take place from Tuesday 23 to Thursday 25 August, at the International Convention Centre, Darling Harbour, Sydney.

Registrations for early bird tickets are open and will close on July 10. You can also register as a virtual delegate for FREE.
