Communications and media staff, education leaders, health promotion and community development staff, law enforcement, emergency services and other interested health professionals are welcome to attend this education event Mindframe is the national peak body for safe communication about suicide, mental ill health and alcohol and drug use.

Conversations about Suicide

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training

This 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches any adult (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.
Conducted by Mental Health First Aid Training Australia, participants will learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

Diagnosis and Treatment of PTSD in Emergency Service Workers
This workshop with the Black Dog Institute has been designed with a focus on GPs to assist in diagnosing patients with acute stress disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and other comorbidities.
Evidence-based guidelines will be used as the foundation to appropriately diagnose and identify treatment pathways including recommended referrals, trauma focused psychological therapy and psychological first aid to help support the management of emergency service workers.
