Solar Thermal Roadmap for Europe: call for signatures

Yesterday, Solar Heat Europe (SHE) launched a draft of its Solar Thermal Roadmap alongside a call for signatories to show support for the initiative: https://solariseheat.eu/. Those signing the document pledge to take fewer than 10 years to produce and install the full solar heat capacity projected by IRENA and the IEA for 2050, a move that would replace 500 TWh of fossil fuels across Europe.

“We aim to join forces with the entire European solar thermal sector to bring visibility to the potential of solar heat and its role in the energy transition,” SHE Communications Officer Alexandra Şuţu said at the launch. The campaign comes at a time when the debate about the EU Solar Strategy is in full swing. The final version of the Solar Thermal Roadmap will be presented on 20 June during a high-level policy workshop in Brussels, the main event of SHE’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
