The Spiral Dance of Wholeness

We dance in Wholeness to Remember our Nature.

Essentials:

 HEARTH-HEARTH-HEARTH-HEARTH
Roots transitioning to Under-story

We will gather around both Pause weeks and the whole last months in the Root patterns.

Please see prompt questions below on landmarks of the day section.
You also can simple join with nothing planned and have your quiet presence be enough.
If you can't be there and have something to share, please email it to me.
I invite you to review the resonance pages to sense the scope of these weeks:

While this is a longer time than usual - a full length class, around 45 minutes - it still is short. If possible please distill your contribution to a 3 to 5 minute time frame.

Pause • Threshold

Pattern of Nature : Pause • Threshold

Pattern of Nature:  Pauses •  Thresholds
Perspective of Joy  - consciousness: I pause. I stop.  I pause in the threshold and listen...the potency of threshold moments. Ally of transition times.
Physical Root: Solar plexus -- pancreas  --back to front flow
Developmental Pattern:  Sea-anemone --arc-like movement --from reaching out to scan/being.
Nature's Expression: Dawn, dusk, seasons, stillness, silence, spaces between,
Political/social: Ability to do nothing - to stop, to inhibit reaction and make room for responding.
Creating:  What bubbles up and through you in any medium when you stop doing? What images. sounds, or absences evoke and support pausing? Thresholds?

Reflective Landmarks to Orient our play today

HEARTH Questions:
What captures the essence of what PAUSE has offered you these weeks?

What are various ways you can deepen that offering as you take its thread forward.

We are transitioning from root patterns to the under-story patterns.

How do you feel your sense of root through the explorations we have done these last months?

47. Dancing Wednesday

Amber: Thank you for this morning. The past two weeks have been very difficult for me personally and professionally. Threshold/Pause has come at the perfect time. Though I feel like it is hard to do, slowing down and pausing to simply be and reflect is healing right now.

I find my body wanting to slow down. To rest. To reflect. To observe. The demands of life make this difficult to do right now, but I'm finding ways to honor my spirit's desire and need.

My movement wants to be still and slow. To be and observe myself and my world without judgement.

Megan: Dancing Wednesday. For me, the music today was powerful in its spaciousness and dance-like relationship between two different timbres. I loved the interplay of the gently percussive steel drums in open fifths and the voice-like phrasing of the bowed instrument which sounded like a violin (but I think it was ‘dilruba’, according to my search). The sounds inspired me to move by following one instrument, then the other, while also bringing awareness to the movements of the people gathered today. I appreciated the invitation to discover a pattern of movement - a phrase - that might be arising within me. I found myself responding to the gentle steel drums as a heartbeat or sparse/vague clues of the heart to listen for, and the voice of the stringed instrument as the full expression of the heart. So with that metaphor in mind, I found myself moving with my arms in the areas of my heart, my ears, my throat, and flowing outward. I loved the inclusive awareness and responsiveness framing of it all - my thoughts & patterns, the movements of others, the awareness of the room I was in. There was freedom of movement with some direction to help ground oneself through honoring my own ‘voice’, recognizing and honoring the ‘voices’ of others, as well as the environment around us. Thank you.

Movindg Monday Recording: Alison:
Revisiting this class to continue integrating some injuries new and old. I took the elephant work to the floor and explored starfish and sea anemone comparisons, allowing pain to be an important signal to nuance. I don’t have much patience for these injuries today and really needed the support of “pause” work.

Science, Poetry, Art

From Christine, Thank you.

“Keep Yourself at the Beginning of the Beginning” by Hannah Emerson:

“Please try to help me go to the joy that is trying
to go to the beautiful helpful helpful beginning
of the beginning of the very trying freedom
that we make our great great great light
that is nothing but the laughter that is
fooling us into believing that we go
to the trash bin that is your life
that become the treasures
that live in the bottom
of the bin that is
your life yes
yes yes
yes –
please
try to dive
down to the
beautiful muck
that helps you get
that the world was made
from the garbage at the bottom
of the universe that was boiling over
with joy that wanted to become you you
you yes yes yes – please try to go to the colors
that kiss you great great great person of the light
that is becoming you you you yes yes – please
try to keep yourself in the bottom of the bin
yes yes – please try to go to the kissing
muck that is very true to your life yes
yes – please try to meet me there
yes yes – please try to bring
your beautiful nothing
there yes yes”
