What a profound time of milestones we've been through together at Emmanuel -- an ordination, a first Mass, and a Requiem all in 8 days. And another milestone on the way: our Bishop-elect has arrived and begun getting settled in his new home, and our diocesan family is preparing for the Consecration on May 21. This event will connect us as far as the apostles, and as near as the seat left vacant here every week to remind us of our Bishop. As an Episcopal church, Emmanuel is above all a living outpost of our diocese and a steward of the way of life passed down from the apostles of Jesus. With this heritage of faith, we pass through the milestones and rejoice.
This Week's Highlights
SACRED SPACES MINISTRY
Have you ever wondered what work goes on behind the scene to ready Emmanuel’s Sacred Spaces for worship each week and each season?  You are invited for coffee and an information/training meeting in the Great Hall on Saturday May 7th, 9:00-10:30 a.m. Contact Lori Dobrik, Craig Russell or Lynn Ryle with questions. Hope to see you there!

MOTHER'S DAY
In honor of all mothers, on Sunday we will invite you to take home a plant from the flats on the Great Hall counter. Whether you are a mother, or in thanks for your mother, this is a day to celebrate the love and many gifts you give and you have received. Thank you to all mothers!

HELP SUPPORT EMMANUEL'S NEW PARTNER, DREAAM.
Support Emmanuel's new partner DREAAM as part of our community's violence prevention initiative! The sale will be held at Indian Acres Swim Club, 1 Arrow Rd. in Champaign,

PUB THEOLOGY
Young adults at Emmanuel! Pub theology returns next week. On Thursday, May 12th at 7 p.m., join Marisa and a few other fine folks as we walk through Luke chapters 19-21. We will once again be meeting at the Blind Pig in downtown Champaign. Questions? Contact the curate!

INQUIRERS CLASS
Over the summer, we're putting together a class that invites your questions about Jesus, the Bible, and things that matter, and is especially appropriate for those who are new(ish) to the Episcopal or Christian worldview and practices, or those who haven't examined their faith in a long time. At the end of the class you may choose whether you would like to be Confirmed or Received when our new Bishop visits (TBA). Speak to Mother Beth to learn more.

CONSECRATION RSVP
Hoping to attend the Consecration of the Very Rev. Brian Burgess as the 12th Bishop of Springfield? The liturgy is Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Springfield, and due to limited seating, all attending MUST RSVP here. One person can complete the form as many times as they need to if they are registering multiple individuals. You will need to bring your confirmation email as your "ticket" to the Consecration.
