Happy Thursday, Falcon Families!

It has  been a great start to May here at SFdS! We want to extend our sincere gratitude once again to all of our families for supporting the Night of Giving last Saturday and beyond. Also, we thank some wonderful members of our Falcon community for volunteering to speak at yesterday's Career Day! Check out the Falcon Five pictures and pictures of Career day below.

Please also keep our 2nd grade PSR and day school students in your prayers as they make their First Holy Communion on Saturday. You can find the livestream link for this Mass above.

Our school calendar for the 22-23 school will be emailed to families tomorrow.

Here are some reminders:

Next Friday, May 13 is a big day for our Falcon Family! We will celebrate Mass at 9:00am in the Church followed by awards for students in grades K-7. Parents are welcome to join us for Mass and stay for awards. Parents and family members should sit in the middle two sections of the Church in the last 3 pews. All other sections are reserved for students.

Awards will take place directly after Mass. Your child's homeroom teacher will notify you by Monday afternoon if your child is receiving an award on this day.

Directly following awards all students will return to the school building for dismissal for the Family Picnic. Students with last names A-I will dismiss from the front entrance of the building and students with last names J-M will dismiss from the Kindergarten hallway and students with last names N-Z will dismiss from the the cafeteria (pick up at the cafeteria door in the alcove).

Here are some reminders for the picnic:
  • There is NO cafeteria service on this day.
  • All students are dismissed for the day when they are picked up for the picnic and there will be no formal classes after the picnic.
  • Families may not arrive for the picnic until 11:15am in order to allow all students to enter safely back to the building.
  • Families may use any green space on our campus, the patio of the Memorare Center, the field, the pavilion or the parking lot area.
  • Typically the Papa Roni's food truck is available for the family picnic and order forms will be coming home tomorrow.

Field Day is happening on May 17 for K-4 and 18 for 5-8. The lunch for K-4 students on May 17 will be a sub sandwich with sides and the lunch for 5-8 students on May 17 will be scrambled eggs and bacon .  The lunch for 5-8 students on May 18 will be sub sandwiches with sides and the lunch for K-4 on May 18 will be chilli and a soft pretzel. Students should wear their PE uniform on field day and regular uniform on non field day. Thanks to a wonderful donor the Kona Ice Truck will be back again this year for all students to enjoy!

Many many thanks to all of the wonderful parents who made today's Staff Appreciation Luncheon so wonderful! You all truly know how to celebrate us and we are very grateful!

In Christ,

Attention all Alice In Wonderland Families:

We are in the process of getting hundreds of photos of Sunday’s performance of the play and pre-show on flash drives. You can purchase them for $5.00 each. Our license allows us to sell these to families involved in the play only, so only up to two per household. If you would like to get one, you need only to do the following.

Send to school to Mrs. Mellody in an envelope

1. Student's name
2. Student’s homeroom teacher
3.$5.00 cash or check (checks made out to St. Francis de Sales)

Thank you:
Mr Obermeier for recording
Mr Kuner for photos
Mr Kimmel for editing and putting it all together

We will distribute them, as soon as they are available.
Teacher Wishlist and Fund The Need

This past Saturday we hosted our annual Night of Giving and it was a beautiful evening. It was such a gift to be able to gather again and celebrate our Parish school! The energy in the room was electric and it was a blessing to be surrounded by families and friends of St. Francis de Sales.

One huge success of the event each year is the teacher and staff wishlist! There are still some items available and we wanted to to give all families the opportunity to browse the list and support your child's current teacher or the grade levels teachers that your child will work with next year. There are also items listed here for Specials teachers, our Special Education department, our Gifted teacher and our cafeteria staff.

We also wanted each of our families to be able to participate in the Fund the Need portion of the evening whether or not you were able to attend in person. Fund the Need is where families can make a flat donation toward the targeted project.

If either of these options are something you feel called to, please click the link above. This link will be live until Friday, May 6.

Our Falcon family is so generous and we are eternally thankful for all of your support!
