VSRC DAY 1 & DAY 2!
(Virginia Scholastic Rowing Championships)
LB Crew will have 48 athletes participating on Day 1 (May 7th) and 20 athletes on Day 2 (May 14th). Day 1 will include novice and freshman boats as well as any Mens/Womens 2nd/3rd boats. Day 2 will include Mens/Womens 1st boats and JR boats. Athletes competing on Day 2 are vying for podium finishes (1st/2nd/3rd place in finals) that would qualify for SRAA Nationals Memorial Day weekend.
Regatta Shirts - there is not a regatta t-shirt for VSRC sold at concessions. There will be vendors on-site selling VASRA approved VSRC apparel and other items (regatta team jewelry, US Rowing gear, etc). In 2021, credit cards did work with these vendors, BUT, cash is always suggested (especially if the wet weather forecast lends to connectivity issues.)
In the event we have any boats that finish 1st/2nd/3rd in a "finals" race, spectators will want to head toward the "podium dock" - a narrow, white dock around the bend in the little cove between the grandstand and the coaches/officials shack at the finish line. This is where the medals are presented immediately following races. 
This is the time to come out and support the team for all of their hard work this season! ROW-BRADDOCK-ROW!

Board Positions 2022-2023
The slate of executive board candidates will be emailed so a vote can be take at the May 24th Banquet. We still have a need for a VP of Admin and a VP of Ops. We must have a full executive board slate to field a team for 2022-2023.

Stotesbury Regatta, May 19th-21st
Congratulations to the rowers selected to attend the 2022 Stotesbury Regatta. The packet of FCPS forms was emailed on Wednesday, April 27th. Please be sure to turn in payment (sent directly to LBSS) and forms (handed to Coach Phil) NOW! If you have questions, please reach out to lbcrew.secretary@gmail.com. Please make sure your rower fills out the Stotesbury Food Choices Google Form that was emailed today (May 5th) no later than Monday, May 9th.
The team is in need of donations for the "team tent" at Stotesbury. We are working out the logistics for collecting the food/beverage donations - more info to come. Here is the list of team needs:

Spring Clean Up at Bull Run Marina!
Please stick around after “Learn to Row” on June 4th as we put the equipment to bed until next season. We will be storing the Jon boats and taking the motors to be serviced. We will also be inventorying the Jon boats, motors, racing shells, Cox boxes, oars, and life jackets. Athletes may also rent an erg from June 4 through late November ($150 payable by check as a fundraiser to buy new ergs). Ergs fit into the back of a minivan or small SUV. They will be picked up at BRM on June 4th and returned to LBSS in Nov, before Thanksgiving. We need about 10 parents to help out. Please

ALUMNI UPDATES!
Cate Field (Class of 2019) was named a recipient of the 2022 President's Award at the April 19th WSU Leadership and Engagement Awards of Distinction. Additionally, the WSU Women's Crew Team made the NCAA Rowing Championships for the 14th time, recently winning their 2V8 race against Gonazaga.
Marietta College's women's varsity 8, including Morgan Ahlstrom (Class of 2021) in bow seat, finished a close second to No. 1 NCAA Div II Mercyhurst at the Devil's Lake Invitational in Addison, Michigan on April 18th and beat the third place boat by over a minute.
The Washington College varsity four boat, featuring Patrick Beene (Class of 2021) as coxswain, received the Shoreman of the Week award after finishing 0.4 seconds behind the first place boat from WPI at the Donahue Cup on April 9.
The UMASS second varsity 8, including coxwain Hailey Warman,(Class of 2020) beat Lehigh in the afternoon races in Philadelphia on April 23.
