A NOTE FROM PASTOR SAM
Dear South Carolina Nazarenes and friends,

I am providing you an update on my health journey.  As many of you know, I had open-heart surgery two weeks ago to replace two heart valves that were damaged by a rare blood infection that had been in my body, most likely, from the beginning of the year.  I can share with you that God has been doing an incredible work of healing in my body.   The prayers that have been lifted on my behalf have moved the hand of God.  As of today, I am way ahead of where the doctors expected me to be in my recovery process.   I praise the Lord for this!

The journey has not been easy, and it continues. I still must administer antibiotics for the blood infection for at least another month; however, I believe that God has already done a complete work.  I am mainly working from home, but I am participating in some meetings as my strength allows.  I am grateful for a wonderful office staff that has willingly taken more work in order to continue the district ministry.

Through the weeks that I was in pain, not feeling well and in the hospital, South Carolina Nazarenes and friends from all over have been of great encouragement.  The cards, phone calls, texts, visits, and all kinds of support, such as meals to our home, have all been an expression of love.  Thank you for loving us and caring for us in such a special way.  You were Christ to me and to my family during these times.  May God reward you according to his great love.

With sincere gratitude,
Pastor Sam Flores

SC NMI UPDATE
Hello, my NMI Family! It is a blessing to send you these greetings during a busy time of the church year as we finalize our offerings and begin to plan for 2022-2023. Work is underway to secure our ballot for the General NMI Convention delegates and other elections at district assembly. Pray for God's discernment and guidance as we approach those elections.

Thank you so much to every one of our council members who give of their time so willingly to make SC NMI an exemplary district! Missions Matters to SC Nazarenes.
  1. Many of you have been asking budget questions and I found a great place to find answers. Perhaps this will help you as well:  NMI FAQs - NMI Leader | Church of the Nazarene
  2. Registration for our Work and Witness trip to El Paso is under way! You can find a link to all forms on  South Carolina District Church of the Nazarene | The Step (southcarolinanazarene.com) We will help with construction at a new church & at a Compassionate Ministries Center, We will also help with an outreach effort for this new church. Outings are also planned to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area.
  3. Crisis Care Kits will be collected at the district assembly on Monday. July 17th, Gas is very expensive this year (as you know!) so do your best to promote this effort and let's PACK THE TRUCK so that we are using God's money in the best possible way by carrying MANY boxes in that truck to Maryland.
  4. We will get a new LINKS family for 2023. The system is changing. All districts will receive their new assignment (and it will be only one) each January--so we will get a new name to begin honoring in January. In the meantime, continue to give and encourage David and Erika Campos and Don and Cheryl Cox.
Blessings on each of you and your church's NMI. Thank you for making a difference for the kingdom!

With Love,
Libby
