2022 has already been our busiest year yet. The first quarter of the year put us on track to double the number of scientists we’d usually serve.
And it’s not just the number of scientists seeking our help that’s growing, it’s the number of disciplines affected: from climate sociologists, physicists, and doctors studying climate health impacts, to atmospheric scientists and glaciologists.
The places they seek our help from are also varied: multiple federal and state government agencies, universities, nonprofit research institutions, and self-employed.
Despite this breadth, we see one common thread – the nebulous but dangerous threat of groups targeting individuals who are studying climate impacts and potential solutions.
Beyond direct legal assistance, your support today also provides educational materials and events for climate scientists, including programming specifically related to science advocacy, and updated political activities guides which will be critical as midterm elections approach.
As a global community we need climate solutions – your gift today protects those who are developing them. Please give if you can to help reach our match goal of $50,000!

As Earth Warms, Legal Threats Abound for Scientists Studying Climate Change
Despite Trump’s presidency coming to an end and
President Biden’s slow but steady efforts to improve scientific integrity at the federal level,
the well-funded anti-science movement has ramped up its attempts to distract, deny, and intimidate.
The recent IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) reports reveal that the window for avoiding disastrous consequences is rapidly closing. Thus, it is simultaneously more vital and more precarious than ever for scientists to carry their voices into the public sphere. Our attorneys continue to engage in educational efforts as well as direct representation of clients in what is shaping up to be a year of increasing industry-led efforts to silence scientists.
