A Post-Roe Reality?

With the Supreme Court’s upcoming Dobbs v. Jackson decision and the likelihood of the overturning of Roe v. Please be prepared to accompany your teens through these important concerns. Parishes are encouraged to launch Walking Moms In Need groups.  Perhaps this is something with which your teens could help!

Mission Mondays

Mondays in June

Hosted by Our Lady of Guadaloupe, Ss. Cosmas & Damian, St. Rita, and the Church of the Resurrection, all teens are invited! Every Monday in June, teens will come together for fellowship, worship, service, and prayer during this local service work camp.

June 6 will be an evening kickoff event with food, games, prizes, praise and worship at the campfire, and a guest speaker. The other 3 days begin at 8am with Mass, then we go off site to different non-profit organizations, where we serve our community. When we return, we will have group games, guest speakers, worship music, adoration, and share in dinner together. Our day concludes around 9pm. Hours that are spent providing service are eligible for Community service hours for school. You are welcome to share this with your teens or bring a group! Contact Matt Griffith for more info. Sign up HERE.

Teens Encounter Christ

July 22-24 & October 14-16, St. Leonard Youth Retreat Center, Avon

TEC is a weekend retreat with the primary goal of facilitating an encounter with Christ for those who are searching for deeper meaning, purpose, and hope in life, and who desire an authentic relationship with God within a community of believers. TEC is specifically designed for teens who are at least 17 years old or in their junior year of high school, although young adults and adults are also welcome to participate. Apply HERE.

Northcoast Spirit TEC is offering any youth or campus minister the opportunity to make the retreat for free. This scholarship provides a chance for you to go on a retreat without any responsibilities and experience TEC firsthand so as to be able to speak to your teens about the weekend. For more information on the scholarship, contact Katherine Komar.

Be Part of a National Study on Youth Ministers

Help make a difference as to how the bishops see the field of youth ministry. This national study already has the ears of the USCCB, so the more of us serving as youth ministers who participate, the better they can serve the young Church.

We know we need to better support youth ministers, but the Church has not quite figured out how to do it well.  The Ministry Training Source believes that if they do this research well - get real and unfiltered experiences and thoughts of youth ministers - it will make a difference in how the Church forms, supports, and creates sustainability for youth ministers.

It is a great discussion and won't take too much time or effort.  Please consider signing up for a 90-minute focus group.  You can find out more HERE.

  • Towards your ministry
  • Towards a future NET retreat
  • Towards a YDisciple subscription
  • Towards that missionary's support funds

Help your teens be noticed, named, and known. This digital booklet from Springtide Research Institute holds dozens of stories submitted by young people ages 13 to 25, celebrating an experience of belonging and connection from the past school year. You’ll also find research-backed strategies and resources for those looking to address the loneliness epidemic among young people.

You can also join their Belongingness Challenge to help your teens feel connected to your parish. We know that belonging leads to believing.  What can you do to help teens feel like they belong?
