THIS WEEK

Confirmation Day

Thank you to everyone that helped with lunch, providing the delicious food, to Mark for the tasty chicken and all that helped set up, serve and clean.

Welcome Lori Moore and Family

Lori joins the staff at St. John's Parish Church as the Community Connections Pastor. She and her husband, Jason, live on Johns Island and just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Lori and Jason have two grown children, Joel and Ellie, with their youngest daughter, Margie about to finish high school.

Lori is a leader in Christian ministry and offers a broad range of experience canvassing over 25 years from teaching youth in a school classroom or church fellowship hall, to providing adults with the tools to obtain a GED or grow in the knowledge of God and training Christian leaders here in Charleston. God has also launched her out into ministry as a leader in Bible Study Fellowship International and as a short-term missionary to Uganda, Kenya, and China.

Lori enjoys applying, adapting, and sharing her knowledge base in a variety of contexts and cultures. By cultivating an environment of discipleship that catalyzes transformation into Christ’s likeness, Lori enjoys equipping the Christian community to be His witnesses wherever He calls.

More than anything, Lori loves a good story and can’t wait to hear yours!

Blessing & Vision

A Mini-Conference with The Rev. Dr. Russ Parker

Saturday & Sunday, May 21-22, 2022

The Rev. Dr. Russ Parker will be leading a mini-conference on Blessing & Vision. Parishioners who were at the last conference with him in 2017 will remember the huge impact that his teaching made on St. John’s Parish Church at that time. We expect a similar encouragement and openness to the Holy Spirit this go around. We will meet from 9 am until 2 pm on Saturday, May 21 in Walton Hall, and he will preach at all three worship services on Sunday, May 22. You will not want to miss this sacred time with the Lord and under Russ Parker’s teaching.  Come with an expectation to be transformed and to see fresh visions for St. John’s Parish Church!

Russ Parker is an Anglican priest and world-renowned healing and reconciliation expert and is the Director of 2Restore, a resource for healing wounded churches, exploring the issues and legacies which prevent them from moving forward and growing in mission. He has authored 16 books and is co-founder of the community of Aidan and Hilda, an ecumenical world-wide fellowship whose members seek to live out Christianity as a complete way of life.  History | Community of Aidan and Hilda – USA
Previously Russ was International Director for Acorn Christian Healing Foundation. He was ordained in 1981 and now resides in Farnham Surrey, UK where he is Associate Minister at. St. James Church Rowledge, Farnham.

O God, whose Son Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd of your people: Grant that, when we hear his voice, we may know him who calls us each by name, and follow where he leads; who, with you and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, one God, for ever and ever.  Amen.

Heavenly Father, we pray for Christians to persevere through war; we ask you for peace, the presence of Almighty God, to be with all people in Ukraine. May the Spirit preside over your people. Through your only Son our Savior Jesus Christ.  Lord, in your mercyHear our prayer.
