AP Testing Communication
AP Tests started on May 2nd and AP Testing continues this week. Please remind your student to pass from class to class quietly due to testing
For all 8:00 am exams, students will need to report to the testing room no later than 7:30 am. For 12:00 pm exams, they will need to report no later than 11:30 am. You can find the entire exam schedule here. These are nationally set exam times so students must arrive on time in order to begin testing.
Students will be excused from their classes the entire day on testing and will need to bring their own lunches for 12:00 pm exams as the cafeteria will not yet be open.
Make up exams will occur the week of May 16th. If you have to schedule a make-up exam for any reason please reach out to Jennifer Engbretson at jennifer_engbretson@dpsk12.net right away.

North COVID Update
After North’s amazing Mamma Mia musical, we unfortunately have had an uptick in COVID cases that may lead to an official outbreak designation. There are 11 students and 2 adults who were a part of the production who have tested positive and have either no or mild symptoms. We are monitoring all members of the cast as well. We strongly advise that all staff and students at North wear masks until further notice. If there continue to be additional cases, North may need to require masks again for everyone. Please take any safety precautions that you need as a family and be sure to continue to lead with love and kindness as we navigate this pandemic together. DPS ‘Your Voice/Tu Voz’ Survey Opens on May 2
Families may take the survey from a link sent to their email, or use the link that will be posted in the Parent Portal and at www.dpsk12.org/survey. Families, please fill out one survey for each student enrolled in DPS. Some questions are school- and grade-specific.
As a reminder, the student survey is for all 3rd through 12th grade students. It will include questions about what they are learning and how they are feeling about life in school. All surveys will include additional questions to support the Healthy Start Times initiative for the 2023-2024 school year.
You and your student are not required to take the survey and all answers are kept private.
If you prefer that your student not participate in the May survey, please click here to opt them out by 5 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 29.
The answers you provide will help us improve education in DPS. Thank you again for your cooperation. We hope you are having a great school year.
North End of Semester Dates
As we approach the end of the school year, we want to thank you for all of your support and update you on upcoming dates for the end of this semester that are a little different from our regular weekly schedule. As we conduct testing make-ups, the state expects that each school will have a 95% participation rate. Schools that do not meet this mark are automatically moved down a rating on the state School Performance Framework. Thank you for making sure your student is in school every day and please check https://myportal.dpsk12.org/ to monitor student attendance and progress regularly! Please note there are no regular classes on Friday, April 29 as we have AP preparation day. All students are welcome to work in the cafeteria on any remote work assignments that they have.

Actualización de COVID en North
Después del increíble musical Mamma Mia de North, lamentablemente hemos tenido un repunte en los casos de COVID que pueden conducir a una designación oficial de brote. Hay 11 estudiantes y 2 adultos que formaron parte de la producción que dieron positivo y no tienen síntomas o tienen síntomas leves. También estamos monitoreando a todos los miembros del elenco. Recomendamos encarecidamente que todo el personal y los estudiantes de North usen máscaras hasta nuevo aviso. La encuesta ‘Tu Voz’ de DPS abre el 2 de mayo
Las familias pueden realizar la encuesta desde un enlace enviado a su correo electrónico o utilizar el enlace que se publicará en el Portal para padres y en www.dpsk12.org/survey . Familias, completen una encuesta por cada estudiante inscrito en DPS. Algunas preguntas son específicas de la escuela y el grado.
Como recordatorio, la encuesta de estudiantes es para todos los estudiantes de 3ro a 12vo grado. Incluirá preguntas sobre lo que están aprendiendo y cómo se sienten acerca de la vida en la escuela. College and Career Corner
The SeeMore Opportunity Summer Program is accepting student applications and is looking to hire DPS teachers and staff as remote, part-time summer coaches. This program uses the world’s most advanced and personalized learning technology to build students’ college and career skills, including key math and literacy skills, learning strategies, persistence, attention to detail and supports on how to make career decisions while boosting their self-confidence. Students who participate will also earn college credit, earn a $100 completion bonus and gain an inside track to a $10,000 scholarship.
This program is free for all DPS students who are currently in ninth- through 12th-grade (including those graduating this year). Paid Work Opportunities
It's that time of year when students begin looking for summer jobs! Denver Workforce Services and DPS' Office of Family and Community Engagement have partnered together with all Title 1 schools to provide students who qualify with paid work experiences during the summer.
