Dear Friends and Fellow Republicans

Why I’m Supporting Ben Cline for Re-Election – And Why You Should Too

Early voting begins today in the 6th Congressional District Republican Primary.  With the actual primary day being June 21.

As the Congressional District Chair of the Republican Party, it is more my function to make sure that there is a fair nomination process than anything else.  And for the most part, I refuse to endorse in nomination contests.  Have not done so since 2017. However there are exceptions to every rule, and one of those few exceptions is 6th Congressional District Congressman Ben Cline.

For starters, Ben is the real deal when it comes to the Liberty movement.  Ben is the type of legislator that the Founding Fathers would want.  He’s humble, dedicated to the needs of his constituents, and is more interested in what the residents of Main Street want than what the lobbyists on K Street want.  Ben sponsored and then got through a hostile Congress legislation which helps veterans who are in difficult financial situations.  All in all, Ben has gotten 7 pieces of legislation through a Nancy Pelosi led Congress and onto the President’s desk.  And then freshman Congressman Ben Cline was the 1st Republican of his class to get a piece of legislation passed and signed by then President Trump.

Ben is quite accessible, and is always in touch with his constituents.  Ben is always up and down the Congressional District talking to his constituents, no matter what their party ID or ideological bent may be.  This is important to understand.  That whether you’re a Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, Ben understands that he is OUR Congressman.  Ben works for us, not the other way around.  I’ve walked with Ben in more parades than you can imagine, been with Ben at more events than I can recall, and he’s always got energy and is wanting to meet the people of CD 6.

Oops – did I forget to mention that Ben has a 100% conservative voting record.

It’s the little things that count!

I was with Ben one time last year, and there was a well known hard core radical leftist who was staring at Ben with daggers in her eyes.  Ben saw this woman and walked up to say hi.  I tried to wave Ben off, but Ben walked up to her and said hi and the woman, who was 100% startled, smiled and stuck out her hand, and Ben shook it.  They spoke for a few moments and Ben went on to meet other residents of this locale.  Will that change this hard core radical leftist’s mind on anything?  Not likely. But this woman will remember this for the rest of her life, and may tell of this to her neighbors.  J. C. Watts once said that character means doing the right thing when no one is looking.  And this shows the character of Ben Cline – Ben understands he works for everyone.

One of my biggest impressions of Ben was on Election Day 2018.  Ben spent a couple of hours at the Strasburg precinct with me to meet voters, and there was a handicapped person there needing assistance to get into the polls.  It was raining outside, and I was indisposed trying to help another voter.  I turned and watched the Democrats working their booth watch the situation and laugh.  Turning back around, there was now Congressman Cline assisting this elderly person to the door so she could get inside to vote.  It was raining outside, but Ben took his umbrella to ensure that the woman could get into the polls as dry as reasonably possible. No cameras to catch this, just one good man doing a quiet favor for another human being.

For the record, I have nothing bad to say about Ben’s opponent in the primary.  Seems like a nice young man.  I’ve spoken with him on several occasions and have met him multiple times. I am looking forward to supporting him at sometime in the near future.

Ben’s record of accomplishment speaks for itself. Vote for Ben Cline.  You can vote early starting today at your local registrar’s office or vote on June 21.
