ONE MORNING, ONE ACT, ONE IMPACT - DARKNESS INTO LIGHT

Tomorrow morning is a special moment in the calendar for many who will rise with the lark and walk from darkness into light.

Sports clubs have been an incredibly important part of keeping our communities going through the past two years of virtual activity and fractured engagement and they will do so again tomorrow.

You can walk alone, as a team or you can join in Snámh an tSolais at the Forty Foot where a number of club members and teams will be dipping into the waters at around 5-30 as the sun rises over them.

AWARDS

A NIGHT OF CELEBRATION

150 players, friends, mentors and parents enjoyed a great night last Saturday in the Purty Kitchen when the Women's Section Awards Night was held.

Trophies and medals were presented and gongs were handed out for Senior and Young Players of the year across both codes.

Gráinne O'Driscoll and Sinéad Wylde captured the Senior Adult Player of the Year Awards and received their trophies from Deirdre Ni Fhloinn, Chair of the Juvenile Girls section, Tara O'Reilly from Amgen and Mayor of Dun Laoghaire, Councillor Lettie McCarthy.

CUALA BOYS AND GIRLS IN BLUE

Cuala has six girls in the 30 that will take on Meath in the Leinster LGFA Championship at Parnell Park tomorrow night.  It would be great to get a big Cuala crowd along to support them against the current All Ireland Champions.

Best of luck to Gráinne, Jennifer, Jess, Martha, Rachel and Sinéad.

This Saturday Dublin Minor Hurlers take on Offaly in the Leinster Semi-final in Tullamore, we are proud to see Cuala boys Ruan O’Connor and Conor Groarke on the panel for the match. We wish them well.

SONGS FROM THE HEART

The Cuala choir is doing a gig with the Kilmacud Crokes choir in Monkstown Church on 19th May as a Ukraine fundraiser.  It promises to be a very special night.

THE CUALA ACADEMY WALK IS BACK

After a two year hiatus, the Cuala Academy Annual Sponsored Walk will take place this year in Killiney Hill Park on Saturday 14th and 21st May 2022.

Every year this event raises funds for equipment, pitch hire, training initiatives etc and is hugely important for the Academy.

This year 50 per cent of the funds raised will be donated to Cuala's Fáilte Initiative, welcoming Ukrainian and other refugees to the club and the local area by providing them with everything they need to play with Cuala and otherwise integrate into our community.

Corporate sponsorship opportunities are now available and are a great way to support the club and advertise your business to the hundreds of families who will be getting the kids' sponsorship cards into their homes.

If you are interested in supporting us please contact cuala2015c@gmail.com by 3rd May.

We really hope that we can bring the Sponsored Walk back with a bang.

FOOTBALL COACHING UPSKILLING

Tom Magee and Conor Mulally are running a football workshop on Saturday morning the 21st of May.

The session will be aimed toward the age groups of U13-U19. This said there is an open invite to any mentor/coach that wants to come.

There will be a limit on the number of people that can come just for logistical reasons so it’s important that if a mentor is attending or has an interest in attending that they let Tom know on WhatsApp at 087 1894537.

The lads are hoping to run a number of these workshops in the coming months.
