Jesper on behalf of the LiU Game Jam organizer group here. I hope that you are doing well and have gotten around to eating lots of ice cream outside in the nice spring weather.

But as you probably know you do not get mail from us just to wish you a pleasant time... It is now 2 weeks left until our Spring Game Jam and we hope you would like to participate in it.

Last month we had a LiU Game Jam showcase at Colosseum. We showcased some of the creations created at the jams. Plenty of cookies, tea and, stickers and chocolate were given away as well.

We look forward to continue to host amazing jams for you. See you there!

Spring Game Jam 2022

A game jam is an event where programmers, artists and gamers come together and create games; both computer games and board games. Join us and build great games!

How to participate

Join the LiU Game Jam Discord server. We will use this Discord server for announcements during the jam.
Create an itch.io account and join the Spring Game Jam Linköping 2022 jam page. This is where we'll upload the result.
Show up at Spektrum at 18:00 20th May. Bring the equipment you need in order to create games: laptop and peripherals, or physical game components.

The preliminary schedule for the event can be found below. No big changes for this event so jammers should feel at home.

Friday 20th

18:00 Introduction
- Joint pizza order
- Theme generation
- Brainstorming
- Group forming

Saturday 21st

09:00 Spektrum opens & free breakfast
Around 19:00 when Chinese food arrives
- Buffet time!
- Half time review

Sunday 22nd

09:00 Spektrum opens & free breakfast
Around 13:00 Sushi!
17:00 Game creation deadline
- Resulting games should be uploaded to itch.io
- Jammers should have cleaned their tables
- Final review
- Showcasing and playing each other's games
18:00 End of event

Share your jam!

We have started to collect all games made during our game jams on Itch.io. It is an impressive collection but it is only a fraction of all things we have created together.

Hence we encourage you to upload your old game jam projects to itch.io and send us a link to them.
