HDR Industry Innovation Seminar & Showcase

The University invites HDR students to the free event 'HDR Industry Showcase & Seminar.' Find out about working in various industries after your studies, or doing an internship during your candidature. And hear from the Thesis Whisperer, Inger Mewburn (ANU).

HDR students are also invited to exhibit their research.

We're pushing for hybrid enrolment to continue in semester 2

Around 8 800 University of Sydney students remain offshore and are due to graduate at the end of 2022. SUPRA is advocating for the University to continue online enrolments for students who can demonstrate genuine hardship if forced to return to campus for only semester 2, 2022.

We will keep you updated on the outcomes of our advocacy.

Protect yourself by joining your union!

If you're employed by Usyd make sure you are a full member of the NTEU to participate in strike action this week.

Postgrad students can also show support, and receive support, by becoming members of the union for free. See you on the picket!

Join us for SUPRA's 2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM)! All SUPRA members are welcome to attend. If you would like to request an item be added to the agenda, please email president@supra.usyd.edu.au or secretary@supra.usyd.edu.au as soon as possible.

Registration is essential and closes at 8pm, Wednesday 25 May (Sydney time).

Fun Fact

Did you know that workers' strikes have shaped Sydney? The Rocks precinct, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Centennial Park and many other significant parts of Sydney would not exist if it weren't for the green bans movement started in the 1970s. Workers in the Builders Labourers Federation (BLF) would support residents' campaigns by refusing to work on specific sites in order to protect parkland, low-income housing and buildings with historical significance.
