EDI Newsflash ⚡
The Early Development Instrument team has a special request for our Ontario colleagues🙏...
Our team at the Offord Centre for Child Studies has launched a study, The Impact of COVID-19 in primary classrooms: Spring 2022, aimed at educators teaching kindergarten through to grade 2 in Ontario, a follow-up to our 2020 study, Hidden Future Front Line (see below). We are hoping that you can share and promote this survey through all your channels to ensure we connect with as many K-2 educators as possible; they are the voices we are looking to learn from.
The survey can be found here: http://oursurvey.ca/hiflec2022
In the spring of 2020, we surveyed kindergarten teachers and early childhood educators to better understand the balance of teaching from home, caregiving responsibilities, and mental health. Two articles which describe the findings have been published and are included below:
The Conversation article: Kindergarten educators with children at home struggled during the pandemic — mental health supports are needed (theconversation.com)
Teaching and Teacher Education: Family responsibilities and mental health of kindergarten educators during the first COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in Ontario, Canada - ScienceDirect
** FREE TO DOWNLOAD until June 16th!!
With thanks,
The EDI Team
