Built to Last

Spring is in full swing, and we can feel the freshness in the air! This month we were reminded of the central core of who Wishbone is - providing Solutions for the Future from Pieces of the Past. This statement is both forward looking and legacy building. We, at Wishbone, focus on this mantra then endeavour to divert materials from the landfills and repurpose them into sustainable site furnishings. The flip side of this coin is the legacy building side. We want to assure that the products we create and our company, Wishbone, are built to last.

So in this month's newsletter you will read about some new creative products and
some of those that have been around a while. As always, thank you for your trust in
the Wishbone team and for tuning in to our monthly updates.

Ready to Kick Back Just in Time for Summer

Put your feet up with the JEM Chaise Lounger! Building on the popularity of the JEM Chair we introduced in 2021, this sturdy all weld aluminum design is robust enough to stand the test of time and also add some style and vibrancy to your site. We took inspiration from the classic backyard lounger and built the JEM lounger to meet the demands of commercial and municipal environments.

Make it a Double!

Twice the size, double the fun! We went a step further and added this double seating design to the JEM Chaise Lounger. Users can sit together and enjoy the view, spark up conversation and share a coffee together. Mix and match with the single JEM Lounger and add some variety and vibrancy to your site.

17 Years & 27,000 Products

Built to Last - have you read that book? If you haven't, we highly recommend it. In it, author Jim Collins talks about building a company to stand the test of time. We consider this as Wishbone evolves as a company and especially when we are creating products for you, our clients.

Since April 2005 Wishbone has supplied over 27,000 products to customers all over North America. Some are in some very high-profile visible locations while others are in low profile, no- so-visible, off the beaten track locations. You just never know where our products will show up!

On a recent hike on the Lochview trail in Kelowna BC, we stumbled across two Custom Rutherford Backless Benches in one off those off the beaten track locations. They offer a rest spot with spectacular views of Okanagan Lake and the surrounding area. We supplied these benches in 2013 and after nine years in this location, they look almost as good as the day they were installed.

June is Go By Bike Month

We are seeing an increase in people who want to "Go by Bike". Whether to school or work, there is no doubt that more cyclists are taking to the streets. Our bike rack site solutions can be varied depending on your needs, size, and designs. We offer utilitarian designs like the 2-Bike Spiral racks above, to the more design forward racks like the Urban Form and Tenaj bike racks. Add some customized branding with the Beselt, Modena and Sentinel. The options are plentiful and the choice is yours!

A Timely Testimonial...

"After hearing of the news of the 'The Missing 215+' (Le Estcwicwey) last year here at the Kamloops Indian Residential School, we wanted to do something for Le Estwicwey / Tkemlups te Secwepenc to show our support. We approached Tkemlups te Secwepemc to design and install a Tribute Garden for Le Estcwicwey. Once the design was complete, we reached out to Wishbone Ltd. for the site furnishing (4 benches) for this project, as we have worked with them in the past and each time was an absolute pleasure. Without hesitation, Wishbone wanted to be apart of this project and within a few weeks, they had 4 benches shipped to Kamloops so we could install them as the finishing touch to the project. The benches make the Tribute Garden complete. Now the Tribute garden for Le Estcwicwey can be used by residential school survivors, elders, and more, however they see fit. Thank you to the entire Wishbone team for their support and contribution, we are grateful you could be a part of this experience with us."

Solutions for the Future from Pieces of the Past

In April 2022 we were busy diverting another 43,208 lbs of materials from the landfills! This has been the foundation of Wishbone Site Furnishings from the beginning, to create “Solutions for the Future from Pieces of the Past”. As our team has grown and evolved, we have become more creative with our designs and site furnishing solutions so the new adage, “Something Fantastic from Recycled Plastic” has really caught on. We love seeing these numbers climb every month and will continue to share the numbers each month.
