June 2022 Newsletter
Not many real holidays in June except for Father's day and I'm sorry I could not find a picture of "Dad with Doll". Kind of sad if you think about it. Maybe we can take some pictures of children with their dolls with dads and granddads and I can post on the facebook page. Please send to karen@dollshowusa.com. ;)
News and updates
World Doll Day (Give a Doll Day) is, as always, the second Saturday of June. How will you celebrate? Let me know and I can post on the facebook page. See the article below.
As there are only 2 events at the end of the month, there will only be one newsletter this month with no mid-month kind reminder.
Please support our events even if it does cost more to participate. During this pivotal time, it is more important than ever to show your support. Word of mouth really remains the BEST form of advertising. Let your doll clubs and friends know about local events, print and pass out flyers in your area or send out a few post cards to your friends. If you are on Facebook, like/follow/share. It is my sincere hope that we can all come together to make all the events successful and if there is anyway I can help, please do not hesitate to ask.
I am always looking for ways to help you with your events so if you have any ideas regarding anything to accomplish this, please let me know.

World Doll Day
~ Give a Doll ~
Second Saturday of June
Creating a Better World through Doll Collecting
Posted Wed , May 29th, 2019 by Ruby Lane
World doll day was conceived as a means of using dolls to promote love, friendship and understanding. The history of dolls is full of instances of dolls being used as a means of making the world a better place.
In 1974 Rock musician Nick Lowe wrote a song entitled "What's so Funny 'Bout Peace, Love and Understanding?" Over 40 years later the theme of the song still resonates in a world that is often troubled by lack of understanding, love and peace. In 1986 well-known doll world authority Mildred Seely also sought to foster these same goals when she initiated World Doll Day. Her thought was that sharing a doll with a friend or a stranger could lead to something lasting and special. In her inaugural World Doll Day letter, she wrote "I have always felt that the common doll could be an instrument of world understanding. From the first time I started writing books on doll making, I had the hope that dolls would help make friends all over the world and develop a little love among all."
