UPDATE ON THE NATIONAL CHILD CARE PLAN
On March 28, 2022, the provincial government signed an agreement with the federal government that will lower child care fees for families. The goal of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) System is to make child care affordable for parents. Soon, child care providers who choose to participate will begin to reduce their fees, reaching up to $10 per day for children five years and younger in licensed child care by September 2025.
The current Child Care Fee Subsidy program will continue to operate as it does now, however, you may see reductions to your parent contributions. More information will be shared with you as the program rolls out.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Children’s Services Representative (CSR).
