Just released! 2022 Bexar County Healthy Aging Community Profile

The San Antonio Area Foundation's SALSA initiative has just released the 2022 Bexar County Healthy Aging Community Profile, a new report developed by CI:Now. The Profile is intended to provide a common set of current measures to inform the community’s work to improve the quality of life of Bexar County’s older adults. Where the data allows for it, the profile identifies those indicators for which the difference between Bexar County and Texas is statistically significant. Successful Aging and Living in San Antonio (SALSA) is a collective impact initiative created by the San Antonio Area Foundation to increase leadership, collaboration, and funding to ensure older adults have access to necessary services, information, and support systems.

New data platform development has begun!

Many thanks to those of you who contributed to our user-centered design work or responded to our community survey (still open!). We're in the final stages of developing wireframes, which are simplified mockups of the way the site will look and navigate. Next up is graphic design and branding! We aim to launch the site in early fall 2022, so watch this space for updates.

Community data use & needs survey

CI:Now has launched a community survey to learn whether and how members of our community use data. What we learn from the survey will help us build tools and offer services that respond directly to real community needs.

For the purposes of this survey, data refers to any community condition or trend. That could mean, for example, COVID vaccination coverage, crime rates, population percentages, high school graduation rates, or other information about  neighborhoods or groups people.

We're only using this information to help us understand community needs. Your answers will not be shared with third parties.

Please forward this newsletter or just the survey link to any friends, family, and coworkers in Bexar County whom you think might be willing to share their thoughts with us.

You're doing the hard work of changing our community for the better.
