Informative Note about the new composition of the Chamber´s Board of Directors
Dear Members of the SpanishCham SG,
We would like to inform you of some important changes in the composition of the Chamber´s Board as follows:
Sinuhé Arroyo, has officially communicated to the Board his decision to resign from his Chairman and Director positions due to personal reasons. As you all know, Sinuhé was the first Chairman of the Board after the Chamber was founded in 2019. He was unanimously elected by the Board as Chairman for a second term after our last General Assembly held on December 2, 2021.
The departure of Sinuhé is deeply regretted by the Board and we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude for the hard work, leadership, support and great friendship that Sinuhé has demonstrated during his tenure as Chairman. He will be missed by all of us.
Finally and in relation with Sinuhé, please note that the Board will present him with a recognition plaque as a token of our appreciation during the next General Assembly to take place on May 23, 2022.
Notwithstanding the above, we are very pleased to also inform you of the following two changes to the Board:
Alvaro Gonzalez, current member of the Board and representative of Cosentino, was elected by the Board to be our new Chairman in an extraordinary meeting. This election, which was carried out in compliance with our By-Laws, was supported by the Economic Counselor of the Embassy Antonio Garcia Rebollar, who has duly informed the Ambassador Santiago Miralles.
Chairman, Alvaro will bring to his new role a strong set of assets and values and for those of you who do not know him well, you may be interested to know that:
He is 42 years old and has been with Cosentino for the last 9 years, having held the positions of Strategy Director, Middle East and North Africa Regional Head, as well as South East USA Regional Head.
His current position in the Company is VP, Regional Asia Pacific Head.
With regards to Cosentino itself, the company has been present in Singapore for the last 10 years, and has had a showroom for the last 8 years, which has recently moved to a brand new location at Marina One.
Pedro Fernández, representative of CEPSA and who was the next most voted candidate in our last General Assembly, has gracefully accepted our invitation to become a new member of the Board. Following Sinuhé’s departure, Pedro becomes the Board’s seventh member. Pedro is a reputable professional with broad experience in international markets. He established the branch of CEPSA for trading activities in Oil & Gas in Singapore in 2019.
Please join all Board members in once again thanking Sinuhé for all his contributions and in wishing him success in his future endeavors, and in welcoming Alvaro and Pedro to their new roles.
Thanks and best regards.
