Dear IPBES Members,
I am pleased to invite you to the fifth meeting of the IPBES capacity-building forum on 1 June 2022 from 14:00 to 16:30 Central European Summer Time (CEST), which will be held online.
This forum aims at building capacity to strengthen the science-policy interface on the impact and dependence of business on biodiversity. This corresponds to objectives 2 and 1 (d) of the current work programme of IPBES. To reach this goal, the forum will convene businesses interested in engaging with the work of IPBES, organizations working to promote mainstreaming of biodiversity in business, national platforms and networks on biodiversity and ecosystem services, organizations and institutions interested in engaging with IPBES on issues of business and biodiversity, and IPBES national focal points and other Government representatives.
The forum will provide information on the work programme of IPBES, and on ways to engage in ongoing and upcoming processes, including in the assessment on business and biodiversity.
The forum will also invite participants to share and exchange their knowledge, examples and views of how organizations and networks can work to enhance the interlinkages between business and biodiversity.

National focal points are also invited to share this invitation with a small number of:
- Government colleagues; and
- Representatives of national organizations and/or networks that are working to strengthen the knowledge base for business and biodiversity.
