DALI Newsletter May 2022

Welcome to the May 2022 newsletter from the DALI Alliance. This month we are previewing our participation at Lightfair in Las Vegas, where we will present seminars on D4i and Zhaga-D4i. We also feature an article that explains the links between D4i and the newly updated ANSI C137.4 standard. Another item explains how we are strengthening our focus on the DALI-2 product certification program, including D4i, after ending registration of DALI version-1 control gear.

DALI Alliance to present seminars and exhibit at LightFair 2022

The DALI Alliance is set to present two showcase seminars at LightFair 2022, a major trade show and conference for architectural and commercial lighting taking place at the Las Vegas Convention Centre on June 21-23. The seminars will focus on two hot topics within the lighting control arena – smart lighting with D4i-enabled luminaires, and the benefits of the Zhaga-D4i ecosystem. The DALI Alliance will also be present on Booth 2371 at the exhibition. >> More details

Data reporting, diagnostics, sensors and NLCs added to ANSI C137.4-2021 standard

Harmonization of international standards related to DALI lighting control continues with the publication of the updated ANSI C137.4-2021 standard in North America. ANSI C137.4-2021 builds on the international standard IEC 62386 (which underpins the DALI communication protocol) and has additional characteristics and features that align very closely with the D4i family of specifications from the DALI Alliance.

DALI-2 certification supports interoperability and sustainable lighting

The DALI Alliance is strengthening its focus on the DALI-2 product certification program, including D4i, after ending registration of DALI version-1 control gear.

DALI-2 certification builds confidence in the interoperability of DALI-based devices from different manufacturers. As a standardized platform, DALI-2 mitigates concerns around proprietary technologies and vendor lock-in, and enables future-proof luminaire and system designs for sustainable lighting.
