SH 358 RAMP REVERSAL PROJECT PAUSES FOR MEMORIAL DAY Eastbound mainlane and frontage road closures resume 9 p.m. Tuesday
CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is pausing all construction activities on the SH 358 (South Padre Island Drive) Ramp Reversal Project for the Memorial Day weekend. The pause began Friday morning and will end Tuesday night. However, contractors may continue to work behind concrete traffic barriers or during emergencies.
Beginning 9 pm. Tuesday, weather permitting, workers will resume nightly eastbound SH 358 mainlane, frontage road and ramp closures for lane striping work.

SH 358 Eastbound Mainlane and Ramp Closures
9 p.m. Tuesday (5/31) until 6 a.m. Wednesday (6/1): All eastbound mainlanes will close from Everhart Road to Airline Road. Drivers will exit at Everhart and re-enter the mainlanes after Airline. The entrance ramps from Everhart and Staples Street will also be closed during this time.
9 p.m. Wednesday (6/1) until 6 a.m. Thursday (6/2): Exit ramps from Kostoryz Road to Weber Road may be closed for short periods during lane striping work on the eastbound frontage road. Drivers may use the next available exit and turnaround at the intersection.
9 p.m. Thursday (6/2) until 6 a.m. Friday (6/3): Exit ramps from Weber to Airline may be closed for short periods during lane striping work on the eastbound frontage road. Drivers may use the next available exit and turnaround at the intersection.
SH 358 Eastbound Frontage Road Closures
9 p.m. Wednesday (6/1) until 6 a.m. Thursday (6/2): Single-lane closures will occur on the eastbound frontage road between Ayers Street and Weber. The entrance ramps between Ayers and Weber may be closed for short periods during the lane striping work.
9 p.m. Thursday (6/2) until 6 a.m. Friday (6/3): Single-lane closures will occur on the eastbound frontage road between Weber and Airline. The entrance ramps between Ayers and Weber may be closed for short periods during the lane striping work.
The eastbound mainlanes and frontage road will reopen by 6 a.m. each day. Driveway access to all businesses and properties will remain open at all times.
All work is weather permitting. Lane closures are subject to change without notice.
