On May 16, 2022, Brookwood Place HOA Board held its annual meeting at Thom Tomlinson's house. In attendance were 2022 Board members: Thom Tomlinson, Michelle Kring, Denise Fast, Ron Davis and Jan Kinney

Our next meeting will be held June 20, 7:00 pm, at the pool, weather permitting. All residents are invited to attend. Any resident who wishes to attend should contact Jan Kinney (jkinney1833@gmail.com) at least one day prior to the meeting since the meeting format may change to zoom instead of in-person.

We understand that a number of residents have had problems with damaged recycling and trash bins. There is a concern that requests to Republic Services for replacement bins have not been addressed. If you need to have a bin replaced due to damage, please send an email to bwplenexa@gmail.com or notify a board member of the problem, rather than contacting Customer Service at Republic Services yourself. We can consolidate requests to Republic Services and hopefully this will result in a more timely resolution of the problem.
With the spring leafing out of trees, there are approximately 20 Ash trees that are damaged/dying and posing a risk to drivers and walkers in BWP. These are the trees that are overhanding the street or sidewalk. This is fewer than when we started out last spring with the number number of trees that have been removed by residents. The board encourages you to remove these trees.

The pool opens for the summer at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 28!!
The pool hours are 9 - 9 Sunday through Thursday; 9 - 10 Friday and Saturday. The pool has been reserved for private parties on June 7, 8 and 12 from 7-9 pm, and on June 18 from 9 - 11 pm. If you are interested in reserving the pool, please email Michelle Kring at chellyo@everestkc.net.
The phone at the pool is available for outgoing calls. There is a sign by the pool rules sign that has the address of the pool in case 911 needs to be called.
Please remember to close the table umbrellas when you leave the pool. This will help to reduce the need for new umbrellas to replace the ones that are damaged due to winds.

Garage Sale/Large Trash Pickup

The Brookwood Place annual garage sale is set for Friday and Saturday, June 3 and 4. Large trash pickup is set for Tuesday, June 7.

Wanting to make updates to your home? Great!
In order to ensure the work aligns with our Bylaws, residents must remember to contact the Architecture Chairperson regarding any exterior changes. Projects must be approved by the architecture committee before the work begins, EVEN IF YOU'VE OBTAINED APPROVAL FROM THE CITY. This includes any exterior changes or additions, new roofs, fences, landscape changes, driveways, patios, decks, painting the exterior of your home (even if it is the same color choice) and any project for the outside of your home. Lenexa has a funding of up to $300 for replacement of lost trees. Please contact the city if you are interested in replacing a tree.

BWP Residents' children can advertise their services in the monthly newsletter free of charge. We will have a section with the child's name, contact info, and services offered (ie: mowing, babysitting, etc.) If a more extensive ad is wanted, a regular ad (see below) can be purchased. Our regular advertising will continue to be offered. If you have a business or service that you wish to advertise to our neighborhood, please consider using our newsletter as the advertising avenue. The BWP resident costs are quite low and will reach all of our BWP residents.
Payments should be made to "Brookwood Place Homes Association" and mailed to our address: PO Box 15372, Lenexa, KS 66285.
