It would be wonderful for Portishead to have a fabulous day of celebration, and to then celebrate that a litter free field was all that remained next day!
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee 2022
Gordano Scouts - Beacon Lighting
As part of the Queen's Jubilee celebrations - Gordano Scouts with PTC are organising Beacon
lighting on Thursday 2nd at 21:45. They are expecting a lot of spectators but believe that
they will have the litter aspect covered by scouts on the evening.
However, I would
imagine that on morning of Friday 3rd there may well be a fair bit of litter left so I invite
anyone to join me in litter picking round the Lake Grounds on Friday morning - maybe we could get a
breakfast at Lido after? I will be there at 8am on if anyone wants to join - complete with
TTT vest/Tshirt
Portishead Show Field
Portishead Town Council have arranged very large recycling bins on
site at the Show Field. (Food stalls will have their own waste bins.)
They have asked if TTTP volunteers would help with litter collection - not so much actual
litter picking (sure that some will be needed) but helping to organise bins so that public are
aware of all the bins and recycling on site; and being a litter picking presence. Alex, Andy
and I will be there in TTT vests on Friday 3rd June - 1 to 8pm.
Please let me know if you fancy joining in and what time
you might be able to do so (no one is expected to volunteer for the whole day!)
