For those that didn’t see, I (and Raincity) recently shared on our IG a PHD Candidate Research study being completed by a friend of mine titled ‘Power, Sex and Corutption in Sport’. Since this is a very real issue within sports (both professional and recreational) I’m highly encouraging all of our members to take 5-10 minutes to fill out the survey and support the research:
“With your participation, the researchers aim to raise awareness about types of sexual abuse and harassment in sport and provide additional evidence which highlights vulnerabilities in the sport system. We hope the results of this can be used for prevention and the addressing of these crimes within the sport system. ”
Along with that, I have been in discussion with coach Sarah in regards to what we can be doing at Raincity to help ensure everyone feels safe, respected, comfortable and most importantly; heard. So we’ve decided to bring back our anonymous feedback submission form.
We understand how hard it is to come forward, especially if you’ve ever felt objectified, threatened, or sexualized in a way that makes you uncomfortable; which is why we want to provide an opportunity for you to be heard without concern of repercussion.
This form currently goes directly to Simon (and only to Simon). If you have any concerns with that, or concerns about Simon - then we encourage you to reach out to coach Sarah (or any other coach you are comfortable talking to).
We are here for you, and we are here to make sure everyone in our community feels safe, comfortable, supported, and heard.
Please note, the form is password protected in order to avoid spam / non member submissions, the pass is the same as our athletes wifi so you don’t have to feel awkward asking for it anytime :)
