Topics:
You’ll learn to represent and store data using Python data types and variables, and use conditionals and loops to control the flow of your programs. You’ll harness the power of complex data structures like lists, sets, dictionaries, and tuples to store collections of related data. You’ll define and document your own custom functions, write scripts, and handle errors. Lastly, you’ll learn to find and use modules in the Python Standard Library and other third-party libraries.

About the teacher:
My name is Sam Gan and I am an 11th grader attending Newport High School. I have many years of teaching experience including teaching this course, volunteering at Little Masters Club, and tutoring in math.
I am a competitive programmer who is ranked in the top 400 high school programmers as I am in the USACO platinum division.
I have used python to create games and programs. I also used python to create a program to predict whether or not one has diabetes using medical data with over 90% accuracy.
I have taught python for over two years, and gotten great feedback from students and parents.

Since we are meeting using Zoom, make sure that the computer is fully charged before class.

Date: 7/5 – 7/16 no meetings on weekends

LMC Summer Camp

Camp Size: We will keep the class size to about 10-12 kids for quality reasons.
Location: Little Masters Club (15015 Main St Suite 208, Bellevue, WA 98007)
Our summer camp is offered to kids going into 4th and 5th grade. It will have activities relating to writing, science, math, and art, as well as time for the students to relax and play games. This camp will be taught by students going into 8th grade, and there will always be at least one parent chaperone.
