We are planning to make a pilgrimage to the annual Saint Tikhon's Memorial Day Pilgrimage.
The celebration will span four days - Friday-Monday, May 27-30. We will go there on Saturday (you may, of course, go on your own on any day you like). This is the day they will hold graduation for the seminarians, but we do not have to attend that.
The plan is to meet at the bookstore at 11am.
Please note: There is a chance that it might rain that Saturday. If it does, we will postpone our monastery pilgrimage to another time.
Our reformatted Church School now meets on Saturdays.
It is part of the Parish Education Day.
You may bring your child for a class or two, if you are not sure whether it'll work for you.
All adults are welcome to the adult classes, as we learn together to be the good stewards of the faith that has been handed down to us.
Join our online Book Study group, which meets every other week on Fridays at 8pm.
We are beginning to read a new book, "
The Religion of the Apostles" by Fr Stephen De Young.
This is one of the best sellers among Orthodox books at the moment. The book "presents the Orthodox Christian Church of today as a continuation of the religious life of the apostles, which in turn was a continuation of the life of the people of God since the beginning of creation."
We meet via Google Meet; therefore, reply to this email to get the meeting link.
If you or someone you know need help getting to and from church on Sundays (or other days), please let Fr Aleksey know, or reply to this email.
If you would like to volunteer to drive someone to church on your way here, also tell Fr Aleksey.
As the cruel and unprovoked invasion of and war in Ukraine by Vladimir Putin tragically continues, we, as Christians living in the USA, will continue to pray and help in whatever way we can:

1. Pray - here is a link to
three Prayers for Peace.

2. Help - on the first page of our website -
www.singac.com - you will find information for ways you can help either financially or with items donated. The information will be periodically updated.

May the Good Lord guard and protect those who are being bombed, wounded, and displaced, and grant eternal rest with His saints to all the lives already lost in this senseless war.
We now have an Orthodox Summer Camp Fund to help sponsor the children of our parish to attend an Orthodox Summer camp (or two). In Fall 2021, we dedicated our Charity Month to start this Fund. In Spring 2022, we plan to do one more Charity Month for the same purpose. And our children will also do a fundraiser around Pascha.

Parents, if you would like to send your child to an Orthodox Summer camp,
here is a list of most (if not all) Orthodox Summer camps in the US. These camps have already opened registration process!

Other Orthodox Summer camps of note are:
- Antiochian Village Camp in Western PA.
Saint Andrew's Camp in upstate NY.
Saint Tikhon's Summer Camp in by St Tikhon's Monastery in PA.
Camp Nazareth in Western PA.

A lot of these camps offer financial aid and scholarships, and now our parish will also be able to help you send your child to a Summer camp. Choose a camp that interests you (or ask Fr Aleksey for recommendations); and after you register, let Fr Aleksey know in order to receive financial aid from our Orthodox Summer Camp Fund.

The month of May is dedicated as a Charity Month for the Summer Camp Fund.
The labors of the field come as no surprise to tillers of the land. Sailors are not astonished if they meet a storm at sea. Sweats in the summer heat are the common experience of the hired hand. And to them that have chosen to live a holy life, the afflictions of this present world cannot come unforeseen.
- Saint Basil the Great
The Church School will be organizing and running a garage sale in August (exact date TBD).
A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to an organization helping with the Ukrainian refugees.
If you have any items to donate, please bring them to the gym in the Educational Center and leave them on the stage.
Please note, do not leave your donations on the steps to the gym, in the hallway, or on the gym floor. If you are unsure whether the building is open, please call in advance.

What happened to people who died before the Resurrection of Christ and the Harrowing of Hades? What happened to those people after? And what happens at death now, after the Harrowing? And what’s going to happen at the resurrection of all the dead? Fr. Andrew Stephen Damick and Fr. Stephen De Young track the Biblical imagery of life after death and life after life after death.
