St. Mary Families,
First and foremost, we continue to pray for all the victims of and families affected by Friday’s tornado. Also, we pray for the first responders who fearlessly began heroic efforts immediately after, all the workers who labor endlessly clearing debris, repairing damages, restoring power…, all persons that comfort, aid, feed, and shelter those in need…, and everyone praying, working together to love, support, encourage, strengthen, and rebuild our wonderful community.
After speaking with our local authorities and emergency personnel, it has been decided that school will be open Monday. It is a Jean Day and we are asking all fourth grade through high school students to bring work gloves, rakes, garbage bags… as we will begin working in shifts to clean up our school grounds.
If your child is unable to attend due to these extraordinary circumstances, we completely understand and ask that you notify us by phone 988-732-5801 or email schooloffice@gaylordstmary.org
May God bless each and everyone of us, our families, friends, neighbors as we work through this difficult time.
Jerry Belanger

God of healing and mercy, we come before you with our hearts filled with grief as we see the devastation.
We pray that your presence would be felt by those who are grieving, who are injured, who have lost their homes and livelihoods.
We pray for wisdom and safety for those who are responding to the people in need and the many challenges left in the wake of Friday's tornado.
We pray for our church, that it may be a witness to your compassion and care for all who suffer.
God, you are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. For this we give you thanks and ask that you hear our prayers for the people of our beautiful community.
- Adopted from a prayer of the Mennonite World Conference for the people of Japan following the earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011.
