Conversation to Explore - June 5th

Mike D. will share a brief history and lead an exploration of the Timucua:  their culture, foods, language, clothing, and spirituality to help us better understand  these First Peoples who were important in our OMM history.

OMM Men's Discussion Group
Cordially Invites Prospective Members
on Tuesday, June 7th

On Tuesday, June 7th, 2022, from 6 to 7:30 PM, you are invited to a special meeting of our group. This ZOOM meeting is designed to let OMM men see if they might like to be part of our membership. We invite you to meet our group and enjoy our warm fellowship as we share experiences and discuss a variety of spiritual topics.

We meet online by ZOOM each Tuesday evening from 6-7:30 PM. (It is very important for the quality of the group that all members participate actively and attend regularly.)

Please email us HERE if you are interested in attending our special meeting, or if you have questions. Shortly before June 7th we will send a Zoom link to prospective members. We hope you will attend to see what our meetings are like.

Suggestions for the Social & Community Giving Committee

We shall have our spring meeting soon, & wondered if Friends have any new suggestions. The last list of our recipients was in the Minutes of the Meeting for Business of November 2021 (page 2). Please send only new suggestions, and not solicitations from the organizations being suggested. Send suggestions to me, Pierre Ivory, at ivorypierre@verizon.net.
Volunteers for
Conversation to Explore

Volunteers are needed for Conversation to Explore on the first Sunday of each month. To volunteer, let Minerva G. know about a topic you are interested in facilitating. You can speak to her in person or email her HERE for details.

    We stand with Buffalo
in this time of grief and trauma

Please share our care and sadness with the people of Buffalo. We know America can be, and must be better than this. This act of terror makes it clear that we must be about creating a kinder, more compassionate and just America for all of us.
If you want to help: Voice Buffalo is helping families impacted by the mass shooting, and is organizing ways for the community to come together to remember, grieve and take action. Go to: Voice Buffalo’s Facebook page:

Young Friends Group
(First Day School)

Young Friends Group is a weekly religious education program for youth from birth to age 18. Youth attend 10am Worship for a few minutes, then follow adult youth leaders to the Cottage for guided activities. Youth rejoin their families at 11am.

For more information, contact Kody at yyacoordinator@seymquakers.org.

The financial markets have been impacted by a variety of factors in recent months. To read the most recent update from Friends Fiduciary (which manages investments for OMM under the supervision of Quakers of Orlando Asset Management), please click HERE.

New OMM Website
A new OMM website is under construction at the former web address, orlandoquakers.org. Most content is now available. Your patience is appreciated while it is being completed.

Supporting Gifts

Supporting Gifts to the Orlando Monthly Meeting are very important. They provide the basis for our financial support and for our continued existence as a Quaker Meeting. While it is true our community has the great benefit of a financial legacy provided to us from the generous and wise Friends of the past, we  nevertheless have a duty to protect the legacy for the future. Your support gifts, of any size, will add to the effort to preserve our legacy and enable the Orlando Monthly Meeting of The Religious Society of Friends to continue serving Friends now and beyond our time.
Gifts may be made in person at the Meeting House or by mail. To use credit cards, debit cards or Paypal, simply click on the DONATE image below, or go to orlandoquakers.org where any menu page, such as "About Us," will have a DONATE button for making a single or recurring contribution. Checks made out to “Quakers of Orlando” can be mailed to: Christine Stinson, Treasurer, Orlando Monthly Meeting, P.O. Box 840097, St. Augustine Beach, FL 32080.
