It’s a half day, so dismissal will be at 12:25. Have a great summer, Blue Jay families!
Eighth Grade Graduation Is Wednesday at 7 PM
We will be sending this year’s 8th grade class off to high school with a ceremony in the auditorium on Wednesday, May 25, at 7 PM. Light refreshments will be served beforehand in the lobby. This is a semi-formal affair, so students should wear nice clothes (nothing too fancy—button-down shirt, dress pants, skirt or dress, etc.). Students should plan to be at school by 6:30.
Football and Girls Basketball Camps
Coach Johnson will be hosting camps at West End for football (mornings) and girls basketball (afternoons) July 5-8. Any student going into 6th, 7th, or 8th grade next year may participate. There is a cost of $50. Email joshua.johnson@mnps.org for more information.
Summer Reading 2022
All students are encouraged to read (or listen to audiobooks) this summer! By participating in the Nashville Public Library’s Summer Reading Challenge, students can earn prizes for themselves and for our school. The easiest way to keep track of how much students have read is to use Beanstack. Everyone should already have a school Beanstack account (accessible through Clever), but students also need a public library Beanstack account–and the two accounts need to be linked. This is easier than it sounds; click here for step-by-step instructions.
Summer reading for all incoming ninth graders at Hillsboro is To Kill a Mockingbird. There may be other assignments as well; click here to check.
