After a two-year delay due to COVID, we are very excited to be hosting Kingston’s first Senior Services Expo! The Expo will provide an opportunity to meet organisations delivering services in the Kingston area. Approximately 30 service providers will be available to answer your questions and provide promotional materials.

Refugee Week 2022, 19 June – 25 June

This year Refugee Week brings a fresh focus to celebrating 2022 year theme Healing. The importance of human connections has been underscored by the pandemic and such lessons can help us in so many ways. Refugee Week provides an opportunity for the Australian public to celebrate the immense courage, resilience and valuable contributions made by refugees to Australian society.

Every refugee seeking safety brings their own story of why they left home, their journey and in some cases finding, safety in Australia. The sharing of stories is an opportunity to not only remember and honor their journey but also to educate the Australian community to better understand the courage and contribution that refugees make. Kingston Interfaith bus tour - save the date

On Monday 10 October 2022, Kingston Interfaith Network Committee will host its annual bus tour to places of worship to provide an opportunity for the public to learn about different faiths. We will have two community buses to accommodate 30 people.

As every year, tour participants will be able to see 3-4 different places of worship and ask questions in a respectful and supportive small group environment. This is a great opportunity for the community to be involved in a small guided tour, ask questions, and experience different faiths in a welcoming environment.

Sand Talk: How Indigenous Thinking Can Save the World

Tyson Yunkaporta is the author of Sand Talk: How Indigenous Thinking Can Save the World. He is also an academic, an arts critic, and a researcher who belongs to the Apalech Clan in far north Queensland.

Sand Talk discusses global systems from an Indigenous perspective, and delves into everything from echidnas to evolution, cosmology to cooking, sex and science and spirits to Schrödinger’s cat.
