This funding is for projects that build stronger connections across communities. Grants of up to £1m are available, although most projects will be awarded between £200,000 and £500,000.

They are looking for ideas that strengthen community connections by exploring and developing the conditions needed to build better and longer-lasting ways of bringing people together.

The Co-op Local Community Fund support projects that make communities fairer for everyone.

Grants of between £1,000 and £3,000 are available to not-for-profit groups for projects that:

• brings people together to access food
• helps improve people’s mental wellbeing
• creates opportunities for young people to be heard and make a difference
• helps people protect local biodiversity or tackle climate change by reducing carbon emissions

Funding of up to £50,000 is available to non-profit making organisations, constituted organisations or groups within 10 miles of a landfill site operated by Enovert Management Limited, or within ten miles of a waste facility managed by the company. Within Gloucestershire, these are: -

London Hearts are helping to fund Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) in communities all over the country. When someone has a cardiac arrest, timely intervention is the key to survival. By making more defibrillators available, and by training more people to use them, the better the chance of survival for a cardiac arrest victim.

PADs are defibrillators placed in public places and accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The defibrillators are kept in an external cabinet, so when someone calls 999 in an emergency, the call handler can direct you to where the nearest defibrillator is. While an ambulance is on the way to the scene, bystanders can commence CPR and defibrillation before paramedics arrive.

London Hearts can help by providing a grant of £300 to communities who are fundraising for a public access defibrillator in their area. So far they have helped sports clubs, parish councils, non-profits and individuals who are fundraising for a defibrillator obtain funding towards the cost of a defibrillator and cabinet, making this lifesaving piece of kit more affordable.
 

They offer grants based on the following criterion:

• Location/footfall
• Health needs of the community
• Proximity to other defibrillators

The Vegan Society Grant is open to individuals and grassroots organisations. It exists to support projects which will encourage non-vegans to go vegan and stay vegan. The projects are based across the globe, with a particular emphasis on those based in economically developing countries.

A typical award is £1,000 which is granted to projects that meet the criteria and are selected by the cross-department panel. The more detail you can give them about how this money would be spent, the better. 

They are looking for projects that:

• Raise public awareness of veganism in a positive way
• Promote veganism in a unique or exciting way to non-vegans
• Support people from marginalised backgrounds to access veganism

You can apply if you are all of the below:

• A vegan
• A non-profit organisation or individual with a non-profit project
• Not a Vegan Society staff member or trustee 

To define mental health problems they use NHS categorizations, that is, Common Mental Disorders such as anxiety, depression and OCD, psychoses including Bipolar Spectrum Disorder, and addictions. This does not include neurological conditions such as dementia. They do not fund Creative Arts Therapies.

Grants of £20k-£60k are available for projects taking place over a minimum of two years.

To be eligible, you should be:

• an established arts organisation of any kind (including CICs), operating in the UK.
• led by global majority communities in terms of both staff and governance. Please see the Application guidance for definitions.
• established for at least two years, with audited accounts or management accounts for at least that length of time.

Projects can include partnerships with other arts and mental health organisations or mental health groups or organisations.

They hope this fund will contribute towards addressing the under-representation of artists from ethnically diverse backgrounds working in arts and mental health.

Charities that are led by, and for and with women and girls can apply to participate in "The Christmas Challenge". It's a match funding campaign where donations to participating charities are doubled during the week of the campaign (29 Nov - 6 Dec).

The match funds come from two sources - charities secure some of these (Pledges) over the summer. The funds are then boosted by funds from a Big Give Champion (i.e. DCMS Tampon Tax funding) which contributes to the match fund pot. The collective pot is used to double donations from online supporters when the campaign is live.

Through this new grant programme Mobility aim to help charities and organisations to make an immediate impact for disabled people, by awarding funding to develop, expand and improve community transport options. They are focussing their grant making for this programme on:

• Funding support for staff or volunteer training and costs.
• Funding to increase the number of vehicles available in the community to help organisations support disabled people.
• Funding local, regional, or national initiatives to increase awareness of community transport and influence its inclusion in transport strategy and policy.
• Funding to schemes, programmes and initiatives that already exist, and who provide best practice solutions, but need further support to remain operational or scale up the service they can provide to help more disabled people.

Through this new grant programme Mobility aim to support charities and organisations to make an immediate impact for disabled people, by awarding funding to improve and expand their access to good quality affordable wheelchairs. They are focussed on awarding grants in this area on:

• Funding to fill current gaps in provision for groups of people who are excluded from receiving help from existing sources/providers.

• Funding raising awareness of the challenges faced by disabled people in obtaining suitable, quality and affordable wheelchairs.
• Funding programmes to help fund high quality and affordable equipment.
• Funding to schemes, programmes and initiatives that already exist, and who provide best practice solutions, but need further support to remain operational or scale up the service they can provide to help more disabled people.

Please note, these grants are for charities and organisations only. Individuals cannot apply for help with wheelchair funding through this grant programme.

Physical activity helps people live well with Parkinson's.

It's important to be active in ways that you find fun and enjoyable. Being active can be anything that gets you moving: being in a walking group, joining a Parkinson's boxing class, or playing Boccia with friends.

The more you can do the better. Especially if it helps you to improve your balance, strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness.

Parkinson's UK are delighted to offer a grants programme to help people with Parkinson's to be active. 

In 2022 they are able to provide grants of up to £2,500 to support physical activity projects for people with Parkinson's all over the UK.

The We Move Fund: Youth Social Action is part of the We Move Fund, in partnership with BBC Radio 1xtra. Through the We Move Fund, with the support of BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Children in Need will commit £10m over 10 years to create and invest in opportunities for Black children and young people.

BBC Children in Need wants to place children and young people at the heart of what we do. We want to create opportunities to support and nurture children and young people’s voices, ideas and leadership in the UK. We also know that children and young people experienced a reduction in their chances to participate during the pandemic.

They understand that Black children and young people face many barriers in British society. Racial inequality, racism and discrimination prevent Black children and young people from accessing many opportunities including:

• accessing similar opportunities and services, compared to their peers.

• engaging in social, cultural, education and economic activity.

This impacts a child or young person’s emotional wellbeing, mental health and ability to thrive and be the best they can be.

The We Move Fund: Youth Social Action aims to:

• Reach Black children and young people with opportunities to have their voices heard. It will empower them to create change about issues that matter to them
• Achieve positive outcomes for Black children and young people through Youth Social Action
• Learn about what Youth Social Action means to Black children and young people. 

The Pink Ribbon Foundation is a grant making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, have been affected by breast cancer, or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer and its early detection and treatment.

There are a large number of such charities in the UK, each as deserving as the next. Many of the charities supported are the smaller ones, which operate on a shoestring.

Learning through Landscapes are delighted to announce that their Local School Nature Grant scheme will return this year, supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Since their launch in 2017, Local School Nature Grants have helped nearly 2,500 schools across England, Scotland and Wales to improve their outdoor learning provision. The grants have enabled thousands more children to profit from time in nature.

2021 was their biggest and best year yet: awarding 625 grants – more than any previous year. For the first time, early year settings were also able to apply alongside primary schools for £500 of outdoor learning equipment and dedicated staff training.

Thanks to generous funding from the People’s Postcode Trusts a further 275 grants will be available. This means they will be able to help 900 schools and early years settings across England, Scotland and Wales in 2022.
