Mercy House

Mercy House land prep started in January 2022. Many more loads of fill had been brought in as the land settled. Contractors tamped down the land and it is now ready for the building. Mercy House is schedule to be delivered on June 3, 2022. Christ Lutheran Church in the background.

Feeding Program

Miss Harriet shares a few images from the Seine Bight Feeding Program. The students and families are so thankful for the assistance in feeding the students a hot lunch each day there is school. Thank YOU for praying for and supporting the Feeding Program which is feeding 57 students.

Miss Nikisha has taken ownership of the Pilot Feeding Program in Georgetown Belize. She finds so much joy in feeding the students in her community. She shares a few images with us. Thank YOU for praying for Georgetown, Miss. NIkisha and the 12 students in Georgetown.

Summer is fast approaching as the last day of school will be June 23, 2022. The kids in the village are excited for summer break (and VBS retuning in July) but also so thankful they were able to return to the classroom in January.

Scholarships

Warisi (wearing yellow in above image) was an Independence High School Scholarship Student and then became our pilot College Partial Scholarship student.

On our recent visit to Belize in January, Warisi was assigned to her former classroom at St. Alphonsus School to student teach and receive coaching from her former teacher, Mrs. Magdelano. What a beautiful moment to witness for both the teacher and student.

Warisi spent some time with me in January. She was able to share her gratitude for supporting her with scholarships. We looked back on her early days of college where she struggled with her studies. Warisi thanked the Belize Mission Society for believing in her and supporting her when she didn't believe in herself.

When you believe in a student and support the scholarship program, you are giving them more than education. You're giving them hope and encouragement.

A Note from the Executive Director

Hi Friends of Belize Mission Society,

It has been a very busy time for the Belize Mission Society. I wanted to send a quick little update to keep you all in the loop.

I am so very thankful for my friend and mentor, Miss Sue. She is the backbone to getting Mercy House completed. She has the experience, connections and love for this project. Keep Miss Sue and the Mercy House Team in your prayers as Mercy House is scheduled to be delivered on June 3, 2022. All the glory and honor and praise goes to our almighty God.

Our first team, Immanuel Belvidere Illinois, returns to Seine Bight on June 4, 2022. They have been busy planning, preparing and learning. We all know that we are 'Palm Trees'. . . and those plans will likely change to fit God's plan for the team as we share the love of Jesus with our friends in Seine Bight.

We have a wonderful opportunity for all who love the relational mercy care of the BMS. The BMS has an anonymous donor that will be matching donated funds for Ministry Expansion up to $50,000. What a great way to humbly walk along side us and double your impact. Watch for upcoming newsletters and mailings for more details.

I can't wait for next month's newsletter where I can share images of Mercy House and the mission team serving in just a few days. Pray for timely and safe travel to, in and from Belize; good health; open eyes, ears and heart to what the Lord wants us to see and do; and the village of Seine Bight.
