"Sustained by Jesus' Prayers"
John 17:20-26

What does it mean for Jesus to pray for us? What does it mean for Jesus to love us enough to seek our protection, to care about our challenges of sharing and living the gospel? This scripture reminds us of the transitions in this season---graduations, weddings, and the like---of endings and new beginnings. Considering our life transitions and those of our loved ones, what have our prayers been, what are they now, and how are they like Jesus' prayer for his disciples? We will consider these questions as Pastor Debbie leads us in worship together on Sunday, May 29.

Worship online with Living Stream Church of the Brethren on Sunday at 5:00 pm Pacific time; 6:00 pm Mountain time; 7:00 pm Central time; and 8:00 pm Eastern time. Or you may access the recorded archives of our worship at www.LivingStreamCoB,org any time that suits your schedule.

SATURDAY, MAY 28 - DON'T MISS IT!
Pre-Conference Briefing with COB Moderator, David Sollenberger
The Pacific Northwest District has arranged a pre-conference gathering on Zoom with the Church of the Brethren moderator, David Sollenberger. David will join us to provide information about this year's Annual Conference and answer questions we might have leading up to July's conference.

We'll gather with David on Zoom on
Saturday, May 28th, at 10:00 am Pacific time; noon Central time; 1:00 pm Eastern time. The Zoom link for this meeting will be: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/3178516703. Meeting ID: 317 851 6703.

This meeting will be recorded, and the video will be made available afterward for anyone who might not be able to attend the event live. If you have a question for David but won't be able to attend the meeting, please feel free to email those questions to Daniel Klayton at
 daniel.klayton@gmail.com.

Do you speak a language other than English?
Sunday, June 5th is Pentecost. Our focus scripture is from Acts 2:1-12, the story of the Holy Spirit giving the disciples the ability to speak in other languages.  As part of the service and scripture reading, I would like to include as many languages as I can.  If you can speak a language other than English, even if you are a beginning learner, would you be willing to be recorded in a zoom call saying (or signing!) this phrase: "All of them began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability."
If you are willing to help with this piece of worship, please contact me prior to next Thursday( June 2nd) at pastor@ridgewaycob.org. I'm excited to hear a variety of voices.

Thanks for your help.
Pastor Liz
Worship - a time of
renewal and reflection
“Gather us in, all peoples together”…to worship in Omaha! Services of worship have been planned to inspire and engage us with our God.  There will be elements of surprise and even humor at times, reminding us that God is a creative God of variety! How wonderful to anticipate gathering again as the Church of the Brethren to lift our voices in harmony as we sing new and familiar hymns, to absorb scripture and sermons to rouse us, and to be sent home with thanksgiving and a charge to be more like Jesus!

The worship team of Dawn Ottoni Wilhelm, Paula Bowser, Tim Hollenberg-Duffey, and Scott Duffey, music coordinator, have been planning worship services with input by Ryan Arnt, pianist, Julie Richard, choir director, and children's choir director, Michael Stern. The team is chaired by third-year Program and Arrangements Committee member Carol Hipps Elmore. Jennifer K. Scarr and Frank Ramirez will be sharing a skit on Brethren roots during each worship service. Organ music will be provided by videos submitted from Ellen Gilbert, McPherson Church of the Brethren; Billy Martin, Harrisonburg First Church of the Brethren; Shawn Kirchner, La Verne Church of the Brethren; and Jonathan Emmons, Greensboro, North Carolina.
