Now that we are again open to the public, we invite you to join us and other Foundation donors in person at The Community Foundation office for light refreshments and information about the needs of our local community.
In Our Backyard is Back!

This month we will be joined by Shannon Pimentel, Coordinator of the Raising A Reader program through the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education. Raising a Reader is an award-winning early literacy program that promotes reading as an opportunity for parents and caregivers to bond with children, Shannon will discuss why early literacy is important, fun ways to incorporate reading into family routines, as well as the long-term benefits to families, students, and schools. Shannon will be joined by a local family that has experienced first-hand the joys of Raising a Reader. Come see how much fun reading as a family can be!
We hope you can join us to learn more about this important community program and we look forward to an engaging In Our Backyard event.
